Strogg vs. GDF, Who are you more inticipated to play?

So i've been dwelling on the whole, witch side is gonna be more appealing to me, thing and its true that it is all opinionated, but i'd deffinatly would like to hear some faction fanatics and their opinions! As for myself, i would deffinatly have to say GDF, just the fact that your putting hot lead into some stroggs head or a nice 120mm round in them just gives me the most power-sum feeling. Also the cool tactical/futuristic armor and rifles.. it's just complete ownage! GDF FTW!!

For some unexplainable reason, I am leaning a teeny tiny bit more toward the GDF at this point. They just seem more...familiar to me. I dunno. I'm really excited to see how the asymmetry works out in the long term. I really think its a cool idea, and hope it works well.

I guess I'm actually more neutral at this point than anything else. One of the poll options should be mercenary, since I'll happily play for whichever side is willing to pay me the most (or, you know, which ever side needs more help). :D

Yeah, thats mainly what I do, unless a majority of friends are on the same team. That, or I join the team opposite with all the better players. =]

We've all played soldiers in one form or another, so I think a lot of people will want to try strogg for the novelty of being Alien scum. And well, they just look cool too :)

I will be playing both and joining the weaker team, but given a choice I will be playing GDF. Reasons:

- shotgun
- deployable GPMG. Hyperblaster probably can't be deployed. I love Mg42 in W:ET.
- weapons are lovely animated, rocket launcher for example.
- tracers from strogg weapons will make it much harder to be stealthy. When I play W:ET, I'm as sneaky as possible, no matter the class.
- Smoke grenade sounds much more useful than forcefield. Forcefield is said to only stop bullets, so it sounds like a rifle grenade magnet.
- unless I'm misinformed, Infiltrator is about avoiding being recognized, while Covert Op is about avoiding being seen at all. Strogg don't seem to have silenced weapons, at all.
- strogg technician sounds like an ultimate rambo class. Health AND ammo in one package. I don't want to be in team with rambos. I prefer team players.

Class I play ? Probably the same as in W:ET - Soldier, Engy, Covert Op, sometimes medic, depending on which is most needed at the moment.

I voted for Stroggs. They're more universality and interesting nation. Everything what is inhuman comes from Strogg race is attractive and original in FPS games.

Whilst I might start as Strogg, I will sure balance out teams.

So I think the majority of players will tend to play both and players only picking one are to be considered asocial in gaming terms.

And don't forget that they all have pros and cons.

But if a map comes where I have to defend, I don't change the team.

The thing about playing strogg is to have a different feel of things. GDF is alot of human technology with humans shouting, we have already seen that in BF2. I wonder what strogg will sound like when shouting stuff (or if they just growl at everything :P)

i wish the game had strogg made better, like when an arm i shot off they get one from the gdf and put it on(they can do that u kno). everybody will scavenge for arms so they can fire a gun, but one guy with no legs pwns them xD.
ahh, reminds me of the best part in q4, when i got stroggified. the legs were cut off, geesh, that might have hurt, and a stick just stung me, ahh, strogg really treat ppl as fuel or sth.

I'll stick with humans at first. My mind might change later, however, since I've not been able to test Stroggs yet. There are a couple o' things making me feel like playing Strogg, though: first, the Strogg are something new. Not sure if completely different, but different, at least. Not only the classes but instead, as far as I know, also the weapons. Vehicles seem different too. The only thing that makes me stick to GDF is probably the outlook of Strogg. They look really ugly. The devs have done great job with the whole game, including Stroggs. I mean, you know, some people fear incects for example? A bit like that is what I mean. You'll surely get the point anyway.

I think for the most part Strogg as frankly I think it will be rather fun playing the bad guys for a change. Not a reflection of Team (AWG) just think it would be fun. Both classes appear to have some great abilities and what not.

I am an avid SOCOM player for PS2. I am looking forward to playing as the GDF in here. The GDF kind of remind me of the NAVY SEALs in SOCOM. Covert ops especially because i am always sniping.

1. Stopwatch Mode.

2. When you're joining a public server which has more players on your favourite team and will only let you join the other one.

That being said, the first faction I intend to check out will be the Strogg. But I'm really quite indifferent.

I come from the BF world, and i am anticipating that this game will be very different ( faster, etc.. ), maybe GDF is where i will be more often in the first learning moments to get the feel for the game..

Stroggs are something i cannot miss too, new Tech, different way of playing..this is also very appealing ... In the end, i will probably play both as much... Team balance is the key..
