Here is a nice off-topic question state your favorite movie. I have so many i don't know what to chose i would have to go with Black Hawk Down or Tears of the sun for action. Comedy hmmm i would say Animal House or National Lampoons: Christmas Vacation.

I agree. Those two movies kicked complete ass.

I loved Accepted too. Probably the best comedy I've seen.

Even though they are both awesome movies I would hardly consider "Black Hawk Down" (2001) and "Saving Private Ryan" (1998) to be old school. Come on, movies have been around for about a hundred years now.

I'd have to go with "Ghost Busters" (1984).

Come and See (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Come_and_See) WWII, Soviet Union, 1943, during some hard times.

Being There (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Being_There) Slow comedy (Peter Seller's best performance I think).

Two very different films that I recommend.

Yeah its a really great movie, I have it on dvd and just watched it again last night, I never used to get it as a child but watching it again makes me really appreciate it more than used to.

My favorite film would be Empire Strikes Back along with other 2 films in original trilogy.

Close runners up would include:

Mad Max trilogy, kind of like star wars in way first one was good second one was best and third was spoiled somewhat with teddy bears/kids.

Die Hard trilogy, whats not to like about Die Hard, best action films for me.

Green Street is a hollywood remake of a classic film called "The Football Factory". If you liked green street you should really seek out the football factory and give it a watch.

My favorites are always changing, but atm I'd have to say Alien vs Predator is my current favorite. Never went to see it in the theater because I thought it would be dumb...taking 2 movie monsters and pitting them against each other just sounded like a formula for a flop.

Der Untergang (about Hitler, german movie)

Oh yeah. That is definately a movie I can encourage everybody to watch. But I doubt there is a english translation? (And most propably it will loose a lot of its flair in a translation)

It turned out crap, the original films they based open are way better and much more of a pleasure to watch.

Yesterday i watched "Cannibal Holocaust"... Jesus, sick movie, Brazillian cannibals eat alive movie group, who is making a documentary film about those people. Something like "Blair Witch Project", movie group disappears left a movie behind them.

That film is forbidden in 15 countries and its from 1980. Why forbidden? Coz they murdered animalas when they was creating this and whole movie is so realistic, even people thought, that they was seriously eating.

Watch it ;d

Did someone say "meow"?
Come on.. for comedy, you gotta love Super Troopers!

For war/action:
- Band of Brothers
- Black Hawk Down

For CG:
- Nothing tops Monster's Inc., and Cars comes after that.

For "ancient" movies:
- Gladiator
- Rome (HBO series)

For long long long movies with a great story:
- Shawshank Redemption

For "making a mark" type of movies:
- Matrix (didn't like #2 though)
- Memento
- A Scanner Darkly

For the "whodunit" type of movies:
- The Usual Suspect
- Inside Man

that's all i can think of right now :)

i thought it was good.. i think the cartoon special effects that they did was really cool and it made me think that they were going for the shock factor similar to matrix. story's a little slow, not much action.. and just a minor twist to the plot. i think it's worth checking out.. i imagine it one of those movies where you like it or don't, nothing in between.
