hi there and im here to tell you about a problem im having with my ranking first of all my rank on ETQW is a gunnery sergant my next rank is a master sergant but for some reason i cant GET PAST DAM GUNNERY SERGANT!!! i have been trying to get past it for like 2 WEEKS and i have been geting alot of points to but i dont know why i cant get past it if someone knows whats wrong plzzzz post a reply :D :D :D :D

well, what is the next award task you are going to complete. When you complete a new task, that is when you'll get promoted next

Yeah when you see for example the Field opps award

0/600 field opps exp
0/3000 artillery exp (or whatever it says)

When you get one of them complete you get a rank. When both you get two ranks. That goes for each star award or wreath. You can check your progress in-game in the persistent stats in the Limbo menu. Or in the stats page here on the forums.

Your stats for covert Sabotage Shield are

* 329 OF 600 XP EARNED AS COVERT OPS OR INFILTRATOR
* 2 OF 2 OBJECTIVES COMPLETED BY HACKING

You went up a rank for getting "2 of 2 by hacking" when you get another 271 xp for covert you will get the Sabotage Shield award and get promoted.

Any line that is completed in an award gets you a promotion, getting all of them gets you the award.

I am in the similar issue, I just don't get the rank system, to the point I have given up looking and just play.

So completing the objectives don't increase your rank, getting badges does, is that right ?

Promotions are based on completion of award tasks. These tasks can be objective based (e.g., hack 2 objectives, XP based (earn 3000 engineering XP) or activity based (e.g., 1000 vehicle kills). There is no straightforward, earn X experience and gain Y rank.

If you super specialize, you'll earn tons of XP but almost no rank. For example, if I specialize as an engineer who goes around repairing stuff, I'll probably rack up thousands of XP, and get all of 3 promotions, maybe 4.

On the other hand, if I play aggressively as a covert, engineer, or soldier, depending on the mission at hand, you could rack up 3 promotions (2 destroy, 2 hack, and 2 build objectives completed) in less than 100 XP.
