So.. after being a gamer for.. decades of my life.. lol ... its occured to me that the ratio of chicks to guys is like.. 1:1000 who play vids... so will the female species ever get into the heavy gaming side like men do? I sure hope so lol

We've had women in our clan since I joined oh, 5 years ago, and I've played with/against others that would indeed qualify as hot. Yes, they're out there, but they're rare & tend to lay pretty low due to harassment from the children.

Actually few monthes ago, female Rainbow Six Vegas team won pro tourney. The clan's name is Frag Dolls and all members are female. :D
(I don't know they are playing other games like...quake 4)

Yes, women do play games - increasing numbers of them these days!

I'm not sure they would appreciate being called 'hot chixx0rs' though :)

cg_TeamChatsOnly 1 takes care of that, at least in 50 % of cases :-). Don't get me wrong, I'm male, but this cvar alone radically cut the number of swearwords, bitching and 'funny' sounds I see during match.

Back to women... they seem to like fantasy and/or mmorpg games. I think fragfest games are not their cup of tea.

I agree with the above poster. There are a hell of alot of them playing WoW. I guess they aren't into violence much and the most of the ones who play FPS were brought into there by their older brothers. I have a few girls in my clan and they all say they wouldn't be there if it wasn't for their brothers.

Girls who play MMORPG games are most likely also brought into there by their husbands or brother. Girls just don't see the fun in video games like we don't see the fun in shopping.

Unless it's for video games:cool:

U dont shop for video games u buy them. The reason is because u go down and buy the game u are after. U dont go down and check out every game in the town only to buy the first one u looked at. That is the definition of shoppin!

My first clan had a women in it (the leaders wife), the second had its own womens division! (3-5 usually), but again this was in the American scene, the European scene has a few I know of like annajr and obviously some of the more famous ones like schnee and irZ

My g/f plays ET (calamity Jane) and would probably be flattered to be called "hot chixxor"
I'll ask her opinion on it and follow-up later.
She really wants to play QW too

Yeah, there are a few girls out there who play, but no matter how much people try to laugh at stereotypes -- those same stereotypes exists because they're mostly true. I've met a few girls who play computer gamers -- unfortunately of those who I've met, only very few are at the same obsession level that we guys can get to :|

O.K. guys lets not have the FBI monitor EnemyTerritory.com due to how this subject relates to the my space insentience.

Anyways most girls don't play game cause they are to intelligent to be distracted by a game. But a lot of girl do play video games and only few play games like this. I have a very intelligent girlfriend who plays games such as this thanks to me, don't worry she still has her brain's but the down side is we don't have our special Friday nights if you know what I mean... oh yeah, owning sucky players on Xbox live and making them the B. Oh yeah and S. we try not to have that type relation, just a clean, respeactive, relationship! And its also because she pushies me around violately, please help, she S. herassh me even when I'm trying to play Xbox!:(

Man you guys make Women sound like as if they are from some other world. Yes occurs they are very beautiful but its wearied, the other night my girlfriend was playing Xbox live come to morning when I got online I had over 20 Friend request and clan invites she claimed that she just shoot people and only spoke where the flag or bomb was, no big conversations!?

That day I had her play again, sit next to her and which her play to see how horny us men are over Xbox Live and let me tell you there was a lot! In one game I had her turn off the mic and not talk till end of match, and sense we both had the same account no one know if she was a she or not. During the game she was being cursed at, T-bag you name say said it, finally the game ended everyone screamed at each other left too right then my girlfriend spoke, "Guys, guys, guys clam down and good game OK." everyone shut-up ed then she got friend and game invites even from the guys who T-bag her!

So we joined there game and get this, the dudes T-bagging her said that those were "love T-bags"! If screaming and cursing is the new way of love then the Middle East are my best friend! So we stay in the party and the last 2 games, every time she died one of them came over to her dead body and "love T-bag" even when the flag is right there to win they were more wanting game S. then there 30's so I ask for the mic and I screamed into it, "HEY HEN. LOVEN PEIACE OF S. GET THE F. FLAG MAS. S. HEAD!" Game over and the dude were in shock while she was having a hard time keeping quite when laughing! one by one they left knowing there S. mate was already taken!

Based on the a true inspiring story by some nerd who gets some while others go onto those Hen. webs
Later LCPL was headshooted and loses his ranked by one of the lonely dudes!

From what I've noticed -- and this is not fact, merely an opinion that I have gathered from limited observations -- girls who are hot and play video games are usually in a relationship. A one-sided kind of relationship where the girl has the guy wrapped around her finger and he is tripping over his feet to bow to her every whim. Maybe it's just the girls whom I've noticed that do that, but boy all I can do at those kind of guys who fall for that is just shake my head.

The girls I know that plays FPS games, usually have a very neutral name and never say they are girls. I can fully understand that because if they don't they will never be left alone on the servers or will be treated differently. It's really pathetic but that's how it is.

A little encouragement is all they need. My girl was good at games on consoles, but intimidated by online gaming, especially FPS. It kept reassuring her that since she owned on consoles, she would be just as good in online FPS. So far it's proven to be true :p

Notice how in the Yahoo interview they pulled out a chick to play ET in front of the camera - coincidence? I don't think so ;)

If it was me advertising my game I'd hire a whole bunch of strippers to play while the movie is running. In fact the only guy would be the one who's being interviewed :D

Agreed. That's why I have the name I do, but I don't usually find it necessary to hide my femalosity. Can mention it if/when it comes up, but it rarely does. It's never seemed to be too big a deal.

There's so much wrong with that, I don't even know where to start...

Well, games hardly take into account women when designing their characters, playable ones or others. Everyone can agree that people shooting women in a game is worse than shooting men? Or? If more team based games had female playable characters, maybe more women would choose to play - although females are almost using the web more than guys now for not-game related things, the fact that everything is male dominated in most games won't help bring more females to start gaming.

In addition to this, if for example the new standard was to be that all classes in the upcoming ETQW game for example were to be featured in both female/male versions, a lot of guys would choose the female one - as they do in MMORPGs. It's impossible to avoid unless it had to be verified through the CC and account creation process that the player was female. Even if that was introduced, guys would still find a way I'm sure.

I wonder if it'll ever improve and that we'll see an equal amount of female and male players. Something has to be changed with the design of games as a start.
