well playing medic half the time i have become quite effective at my job and as seeing a lot of meds go rambo with health or just ignore reviving people (VERY annoyinh) i thought i give a couple of tips. hope no one minds.these might not suit your playing style but well cant please every one:cool: .
1 this is in the loading bit thing. when its "says as a GDF medic you objective is not to shoot strogg but to revive your team mates" its not kidding. if you want to blast strogg with a rifle go soilder. by all means defend your self. but dont go off into the battle to get kills. stay back revive and help your team. that way your more likely to win, and your team will be greatful. i have my defibs out more than my shotty
2 hang back. fed up of getting killed when reviving? well then hang back a bit, wait till theres an opening or keep in cover then dash out and back. dont just walk up in the middle of a intense fire fight as you will get fragged.easy pickings. this works best on MCP escort mission as the MCP moves forward you can stay back about 10 m and revive team mates.
3. defend yourself.yes by all means defib that guy on the floor but if your getting shot at fire off a couple shots (try to kill him if you can) then defib him. hopefully the enemy with fret about taking damage, giving that small window to get your mate up to help you. i personaly like to use the shotty as a "personal defense weapon" this also stops me from going rambo.
4. drop supplies in cover and a small way back from the main fight this will help protect them.
well thats my two pennies so feel free to flame me.:D

Medics should also be destroying spawn hosts. I don't see this enough, and it can really make a big difference.

I admit, I am far from a great player but I have the HARDEST time with the medic class of all the other classes. The hit boxes for the revive are WAY too small IMHO. Even when I'm standing right over the guy I miss more often than not. :( My other beef is that no one seems to notice when I'm throwing out health. I think they are too hard to see. They should glow for your teammates or something. I think in the heat of battle its just too hard to pick out the health packs.
Or maybe I should just stick to engineer since that seems to be what I am decent at. :)

Try crouching when you try for the revive. You should be able to run by, crouch, paddle, and be off running for the next body.
Also, playing med a bit helps you appreciate them a bit more when you do play engy

Pleeeeaaase: DONT always blame the game when you dont accomplish something. Just practice and the hitbox is just fine.
Medic class is maybe the hardest to play, as you have to be close to the action and dont have time to defend yourself all the time. Its risky.
When i play medic, i:
-Jump around. Jump to the person to revive and when landing directly crouch.
- Have a script that makes weelup - needle, weeldown- rifle. So i can change between these fast.
- Am willing to die. As long as thereīs another medic itīs ok diying when reviving two or three teammates.
... and yes: spawnhosts won many games so far.

I wasn't blaming the game. I just don't have 18 year old reflexes anymore so the hitboxes are small for me. ;) As anything it will just take practice. It's just hard to adjust for me as it plays so incredibly different than all the other classes and its humbling ending up with only 40 or 50xp at the end of the round because I suck at it so bad! lol

I'm 40 with the reflexes of a 50-year old. The hit boxes are fine, but I've been playing medic forever too.

Try crouching when you try for the revive. You should be able to run by, crouch, paddle, and be off running for the next body.Great tip, crouching ensures that you'll revive. Once you play GDF Medic long enough, you'll master the running revive. Thats what I like to call it anyway.

It really helps to sit in a server with someone else, both join up as medics, and practice dueling then reviving your opponent.

I do enjoy playing the medic class a great deal. The feeling you get weaving in and out of gunfire, reviving teammates, then BOLTING back into cover with a fraction of your life in tact cant be matched by any other class.
My advice to potential medics is learn two very important skills:
a. Learn to run n' gun revive. Meaning, when you get good, you can revive people in the middle of a dense firefight by simply laying down some supression fire and leaping into the fray, revive, and leaping out. Using my sprint key and well timed jumps I will land on the body, crouch, revive, and sprint / jump back out into cover. I will often take fire, but have found I can move in a way that I don't get hit enough to die. I then drop medpacks behind cover, and repeat the process.
b. Learn to fight in close combat with the assault rifle. The AR can take down several strogg with ease if you aim for the head and maintain high accuracy. Often my abilities in a firefight help me revive my team. Don't get me wrong, when I play medic I'm 100% support generally. However, being able to rush into a room and kill the 2 remaining Strogg that are wounded and left over from a firefight means I can sometimes win the map by reviving the downed GDF by the objective. If I just went for the revive, theres a good chance I would die as well as my 50 health partner that I just picked up.
Being able to kill the strogg 1st and then revive guarantees our safety. It's always a judgement call, being a good medic is knowing when to make that call.. If you have the ability to sweep a room with gunfire and then revive, do it. If you don't see that opportunity, then get in there, revive, and get OUT! Drop a few medpacks to heal to full, and get back in and keep it up.
There is no class that is more "frantic" than the medic. I can stay alive longer than any other class simply by knowing when to fall back and heal, and when to push forward. I am constantly scanning my view for friendlies to revive, and am most useful in the absolute most heated part of the battle. I'm working on getting my technician skills up to par with my medic abilities, its getting there.. the Technician is a very different class in that its much more paced and methodical. Still quite fun in its own way though.

Just thinking the same here :D , as a medic i should be able to do bouth things kill the ones that are close so i can revive teammates without complications, so you'r giving a succesfull support although sometimes it is certain that if there are enough soldiers/gunners close you'll help more if you heal them or use their cover to do some revives... Oh and to the guy who asked... a way i use to teammates know that i throwed med-packs is to "v" "h" say "medpacks Dropped" well... that if you have commands with lettlers... it is often a usefull way :)
