Is there any details on the map editor? I'm a rookie at map making, never done it before and ETQW is something I'm looking forward to mapping for from the beginning.

I heard the mega-texture "auto generates" around the terrain and depending on the geographical location, then you have brushes to touch it up. Is this correct and as easy as it sounds?

How do you create landscapes? Will it be like morphing the landscape or pre-made maps, or some generating tool after you input some values to determine the terrain/landscape features like mountains, hills and water coverage?

I'm sure some ET:W mappers will know best. :)

Thanks.

Try here: http://uk.pc.gamespy.com/pc/enemy-territory-quake-wars/770741p1.html

And no, it won't be as easy as you say. For the terrain you'll need to create a model and import it first, then you can generate a MT for it.

Hello Forum,

will the Map Editor or SDK also be released for linux?

The game code will be compilable on Linux and Mac, the game tools are all Windows only though.

Awwww...looks like Parallels for me then.

Also, how much of a change from previous mapeditors (various versions of Radiant, the D3 map editor, Hammer editor for HL1, etc) should we be expecting with QW:ET's map making?

And would you plan on releasing info/docs/faq's/walkthroughs before the map editor is released so that we know what we're in store for and can get ourselves prepared right off the bat?

From what I read in Dev article #5, is seems to be closer to GTKRadiant than D3 Edit. (Though it's supposed to be built on the latter, gotta love jRad for that.)

This might be a little early but I would like to point out the IRC Chan #etqwmods on the quakenet servers.

This channel will be dedicated to the modification of the game and a good place to try and find help.

A few of us idle in the channel now while we wait for the SDK/Tools to be released.

Stop by if you feel like chatting and discussing anything related to modding.

Hello Forum,

thanks for your reply RR2DO2, so I will use the tools on Wine or VMWare.
