Well, I found out that driving the mcv offcourse when you encounter heavy resistance can work for you. You don't need to go far, just for the counter to appear, the good thing about it is that the new mcv is in full health and you don't waste time repairing the old one.

I think I meant MCP, or is it MCV....

I've seen it done, works well to avoid turrets but you're stuck if it get disabled off course, then it blows and you have to start again.

On Valley, it can really do wonders if the Strogg have no turrets right at the outpost site.

I didn't make myself clear, when it almost reaches the point where it's disabled, you take it off the road so the counter starts, then, it blows and you get a new one, full health. Might not work everywhere, but it's good to know. Saves some time for engineers as they would have a hard time repairing it while it's under fire anyways.

This works extremely well on Refinery - you take the right path, then instead of going down the ramp or between the buildings, go around the RIGHT side of the rightmost building (off course), and if you get disabled, you get a full health MCP back at the intersection. Who needs engineers? :D

It works great on Refinery if you can get all the way to the base, almost an exploit if you ask me, but it's tough enough to win that map so I don't mind it.. They should probably just go back and make that a legit path in the next patch...

But if it gets destroyed you have to start over from the beginning, and it wastes a lot of time that Strogg can use to set up (more) defenses. It takes a lot less time for even 1 engineer to repair it and continue from whatever point it's at, so long as there isn't an AVT (or 5) right in front of it.

edit: I just tried it, I didn't even realize that far-right path was a legit path, it's really just the final "wall leap" that's not. It's risky, I've seen the MCP disabled there and get replaced.. but it's worth it if the defenses are all pointed the other way..

Another place for this is in Valley, as I've read. Just before the ramp to the outpostm turn right and drop down from the edge. Then just drive as you would normally do. Really solves the can't-repair problem.

Doesn't matter if it gets destroyed - you get a full health MCP from the last waypoint to bulldoze in with, and also if you get soldiers up the hill to the right, they can smash any AVTs.

Thru tunnel , hit a sharp left between tunnel exit and the building.
the countdown timer then starts

all the strogg deployables are on the road and miss the MCP completely

I have seen this done on a few servers now.
