View Full Version : How do you mute vsays from a player?

Can someone tell me how to mute vsays from a specific player? Most people are fine with them but occasionally you'll run across someone who spams vsays relentlessly. I'm not interested in muting their VOIP or text chat (necessarily,) and I don't want to get rid of all vsays from everyone (like turning them off with a cvar or something.)

I've been told that you can do it in the limbo menu but I haven't been able to find the right spot.

I'm aware that I could call a vote to do this, but votes rarely seem to pass. Besides, If I'm the only person on the server uptight enough to care about it then I'd prefer to leave the spammer alone and just ignore them from my end.

Can anyone help?

I think it's not possible to mute a named player, but SD should add the option to do it. Call a vote to mute a donkey is wasted time.

Go to the limbo menu, admin panel, find the player, right click and you should see a couple of mute options

Do I need to be a server admin? I've tried this before and it's never worked for me.

some servers have voting disabled,
but it is possible the way Ifurita described

I tried that once, maybe I didn't do it right but it didn't mute the guy's Vsays. I think that only mutes their VOIP.

Indeed. I'd like a series of options on that rightclick menu in Limbo, personally: Mute Text, Mute VSay, Mute VOIP. VOIP's already there, so...
