So I go to the pre-order site and try to register my tag. I fill everything in and hit submit and I get the following error:

"You must be 13 years or older to pre-register a GAME TAG."

I'm 41 years old and put 03/10/1966 in the Date Of Birth field. What gives?

Anyone, anyone?

And no old man jokes or I'll hunt you down in game! :p

I am old as well. The only problem I had was the original email address i used has some serious spam controls, even when turned off I couldn't receive the confirmation email. Activision was bleeping fantastic at helping me resolve the issue, they sent it to another email account I had. Any way I would contact them, they'll definitely help you.

I contacted Activision and here is their response. It worked for me so wanted to post it if any other geezers had a problem. :D

"Hello.

Thank you for contacting Activison. There were some recent changes that were made to the site and it looks something has broke for that field. I have sent a request to have this fixed. In the meantime, you can use 1970 as the year and that will work.

Let me know if you have any other questions."

Ah, usage of '1970' (or 'not before 1970') is ofcourse important hint to what is broken for any programmers. =)

Do you think any under 13s actually enter their real d.o.b?

I always new when I was that age that age verification forms were there to stop my fun so I'd be born in 1900 for the majority of sites :p

I thought 1900 was the amount of posts you were going for in one sitting ;)

I had the same problem with the age thing. I randomly tried different dates until I found one that worked.
Another thing I found is that it keeps saying I have an invalid reg. code.
What's up with that?
I sent them an email and waiting for response.

I also have the problem with DOB, I put in 1968 and got the 13 year error LOL.

So I used 1970 and it passed the DOB check but now I get the invalid reg code.

Does the last two digits go in the other box? or do you put your whole reg code in the first "long" box? I tried deleting cookies but still get the reg code error.

Thanks for posting this, JackMonkey. I had the same problem and the fix worked.

Why do you need to be older than 13? Wouldn't it be more logic that it asks you to be older than 17, since the game is (most likely) going to be rated M?

Rogue

Likely to be rated T perhaps.

The game has been Rated T.

Well JackMonkey I'm not sure why that would be doing that but maybe just for the sake of getting your name saved I would consider changing you b-day. Not saying lying is right but might be the most easy way to get your issue fixed. I would also say try visiting the Activision help section. I had an issue with my hotmail email and it was fixed on a Saturday in two hours. So give them a chance. If you need a direct link to the support gimme a shout and I will get it to you. Good luck and cya on the battlefield.

I wasn't able to use a '*' in my tag. So I have my tag without the '*', which is crucial. Is anyone else having problems with non-alphanumeric charcters? I know that the '.' will work.

Disappointing ' * ' doesn't work.

I wrote a thread about chars here -

No definitive list of what can and can't be used though.

The creators of QW probably think that people have quited gaming by the time they turn 41:D

It's ageism, I tell you! :)
I'm 46, and it gave me the same error. Used my noggin and put in 1970 for an outside chance (programmers laziness?)

Anyway, 1970 worked as it did for the other oldies above.

PS, and other TOGs (http://www.theoldergamers.com) reg'd yet?
