My first impressions were very positive, the main menu navigation screens are very clean and laid out well, its very easy to browse through them.

After loading into my first map, all I can say is wow! The draw distance is amazing, and everything is very clear. I am so used to games like BF2 and BF2142 where there is a thick soupy fog covering everything.

The majority of the textures were very detailed and had allot of variety. The game runs very smooth on my system, AMD FX-60, 2GB DDR400 RAM, 8800 GTS, and supports my 19" wide screen natively.
All in game graphic settings were maxed with 8X Ansio but AA was turned off initially. I bumped it up to 2x just to see how it would run, realistically I think it could go higher.

The character models were very detailed and looked really nice, including most of the vehicles, I really liked seeing the walker tear up the ground, seeing big chunks of material kicked around was satisfying.

I know that this is still beta, but I would like to also post some thoughts on things that need improvement and further testing, the splash damage team has done an amazing job so far and I look forward to seeing this game develop.

The characters do not seem to have much weight when they move. Not quite like there gliding but something close to that, theres no heft or resistance to them. I also noticed that when close combat heats up, and your engaging the enemy, the movements get very twitchy, and jittery, you seem to just glide very quickly and can turn on a dime. This goes back to my impressions on how the characters seem to not have that much mass.

The few vehicles I did test was the exact opposite, I did not feel I could take a corner and bring the tail out and slide any at all. In addition the jeeps had rocks for shocks, very little dampening at all.

Of the weapons I did test, the GDF infantry and support gunner class, the sound effects were very muted and seemed to skip constantly when you fired them, almost as if the audio could not keep up with the pace of the gun itself.

As I stated earlier, the majority of the textures were sharp, and very detailed, the one exception were the trees. Upon close inspection, they turn very blurry and lose allot of detail.

I think overall this game is looking really good, with some additional testing and feedback from the community we should have an awesome game at release.

Watching the videos I got the same feeling :O , sometimes it seems they are skating or floating. It's not like that in W:ET. And I wish the style of the characters and animations were less S.W.A.T and more similar to those in the 2005 trailer   ..these are my only complaints visually speaking, but I guess the 2nd one is more a matter of taste...

I heard that there is an advanced vehicle control option that you can choose, I will have to check that out and see if theres any difference.

Also I feel that the turret on the GDF tank rotates to rapidly and needs some tweaking.
