I heard this was in the works waaaay back when. Would be nice to have even before the SDK, etc. D3W is great, but it's nice to have the devs around.

I would rather have the modding forums over at the SD forums and keep the general support and spam over here.
Once the game is released, a "Mod support" section could be nice if someone feels like it.

definatly, mod forum will be great to browes around.
I bet that the first mod to be in the works will be a XP save system.

A bit to early maybe, would be better to wait for a fully supportive SDK for the game, or atleast until the release.

Talked about in the Website Feedback forum already. They said more forums are coming including things like Tech Support that won't be up til the game is released.

I'm pretty sure I read there would be a public wiki for modmakers released before the game was.

yes there will be, but a wiki is only there to be read, not to discuss stuff.
I'd like to see how many developers are planning to mod et:qw, what they wanna do and stuff.
I know a few things from the www.totalquakewars.com forums, which covers the biggest et:qw community right now afaik,
but this forum probably will be a centre for all developers to write in, so it would be nice to have a modding forum..
clans can't play yet either, but they already form together so they can play it once the game is out,
why should mod developers wait for the game to come out to create a modding team and collect informations ?

well if you look at most wikis that are based around open scripts etc you'll see there is a huge use of the article chat pages where people leave comments for each other. I know it's not a substitute for a forum but together they can create a great resource

You are correct in part, the internal wiki system that we use here at SD will be cleaned up and then made available. Howerver on the timescale front, we've yet to officially confirm when that will be, let us finish the game first :)

No, I'm afraid the forum can't be modded. Just the game.

in time, there is not much to discuss without the game and the SDK right?

sure there is.. mod teams could ask for new members, ideas and stuff could be collected.
I think there is a lot to discuss, but discussing this on the general forum would be a waste of time, because all threads would be gone to page 3 or more in no time.

We dont need an entire board for that, we already have general discussion and off topic..
I have a feeling SD have some major mod support in the works so lets pray :)

did you read my post completely ?
no we dont need an entire board, but a new subforum would be nice.
and its not much work to add one more.

is it even possible to add subforums with this forum system? Ofcourse its not much work to add it, but the more boards the longer you will need to browse through the forums to read the new posts..

I think its easier to find the right posts this way..
if you want modding questions you look in the modding forum, if you want to find some in the general discussion forum you'll need the search function and a good portion of luck.
