View Full Version : Unknown error creating a new account (stinking vista?!?!?)

I'm a newbie to QW but not FPS's, I just installed ETQW and didn't make it past entering my CD key (did that 4 times to make sure I got it right) and the next thing I see is UNKNOWN ERROR... WTH?
Does anyone have any feedback or suggestions?

Operator error?
Try a reinstall and then try updating the game with a patch from Fileplanet instead of through the game.
Maybe?

Download and install the 1.4 patch, you should be good after that.

what does this have to do with vista? I run QW on vista with no problems, try running it as administrator.

I had the exact same error, but mine was due to not installing the patch. Make sure you have done that.

As others have said, installing the latest game update fixes this error. It's not an issue related to Vista.
