posting for two reasons...
1) Strategy I use
2) Maybe people don't know you can do it
I use it mostly on valley (as GDF) in two spots (farthest spot going over the tunnel and back of Cyclops spawn), but it comes in handy on some other maps as well (for either team).
I mostly play FO and sometimes I need to be up high so I can look into enemy territory(no pun intended) and call in arty. Once i do that, there is not always a point to staying up there (no one needs ammo for rockets or covert) so I base jump off the nearest cliff to get back down (MCP, spawn, ammo, cause confusion behind enemy lines)
Find a nice stright drop off, leap out, and tap "use" a few times, hit the ground running. The higher the drop off the safer you are, shorter drops cause a small (to moderate) amt of damage depending. Its a good way to get away from the tormentor that spotted your laser as well...you can at least get down and toss a few nades before he tells people where you are.
Plus...I just think its cool:cool:
