View Full Version : Personal Jammer, will this work?

So the other day I was playing as a Covert on Island and I was able to get myself the Personal Jammer award. Now the only descriptions I found for the Personal Jammer said, "Player does not show up on enemies' radar."
Now what I was wondering, since I haven't had a chance to test it, does this mean if I pick up the Date Disc, I still wont show up on the enemy radar?

Nope. Your radar signature won't be seen but the little suitcase data disc will.

Just like how neither disguises nor teleporters work with a package. You'll just have to do it the old fashioned way.

Well, yeah the suitcase icon will still be showing. So even with the personal Jammer. The strogg can still see the data disk thing on their radar.
I think the personal jammer would be very useful for snipering or if you trying to hide deep inside the enemy territory for a while.

that's the only thing it's useful for.. being the sneaky bastard behind enemy lines that has to return to his homebase EVERY time his radar gets disabled because the stupid engineers don't repair it.. lol

good thing it doesn't work when in disguise, that'd be easy for your oponents to recognize you.

One of my favorite campaigns to get it on is Northern Europe. I can get it before Ark ends on a good day, and then cause havok with the strogg on the final OBJ.
On Salvage, Personal Jammer + Silenced Machine Pistol = Awesome. :cool:

good thing it doesn't work when in disguise, that'd be easy for your oponents to recognize you.
I bet you it would work anyway.

I've caught people like that, as GDF on Salvage.
It doesn't matter how convincing you are when you're in disguise, if you have the jammer and someone with a GPMG looks up at their radar, you're dead.

Hate to break it to you, but Infiltrator doesn't get a jammer.
Strogg Infiltrator
No Footsteps Stealth (15) - Infiltrator runs silently
Enhanced Radar (30) - Radar has greater range
Faster Hacking (60) - Increase rate at which objectives are hacked
Faster Disguise (120) - Increases rate at which disguises are taken
GDF Covert Ops
Silenced Machine Pistol (15) - Unlocks Silenced Machine Pistol as a secondary weapon option
Enhanced Radar (30) - Increases detection range for deployed radar
Faster Hacking (60) - Hack rate is increased
Gain Personal Jammer (120) - Player does not show up on enemies' radar
