I thought i'd take a couple of minutes to write this introduction to wall strafing for those who are not aware of it, as i find it quite useful in certain situations in etqw.
Wall strafing (aka wall running) is a movement technique that has been around for many years that is used to increase your running speed beyond its usual value.
To perform wall strafing, stand facing parallel against a flat, straight wall (no sticking out bits or curves), then turn to look 30 degrees into the wall and hold Forwads and Strafe (into the wall), while maintaining the required angle. You will slide along the wall, increasing your speed by 40%.
If you are just running (without sprinting) then the angle is 17 degrees.
this applies regardless of what weapon you are holding, or whether you have the speed upgrade or not.
the angle is difficult to judge by looking but you will feel when you have the right angle. demo attached.
