Hi !
So how do you guys generate the protector field in front off the strogg's cars ?
I can make a "non-symetric" field from outside playing a field ops. But I saw someone generating the field while driving it ??

What your probably seeing is the Hog truck's ramming shield: While it does not protect you from harm when you run into enemy vehicles you take almost no damage and the other vehicle takes all the damage (or pretty close). It can be activated by pushing the shift key. (sprint). :D

ok so your telling me that I had the ramming shield all this time without knowing it, as i'm near always on sprint while driving fast vehicules. lol
thanks :)

Yeah, I think you are talking about the ramming shield, you can activate it or deactivate it by hitting the running key, default is shift. This ram shield does not protect you from enemy fire. However, the oppressor energy shield can protect you from enemy fire, even tank guns/RL.

You can have both the oppressor shield and the ramming shield at the same time, and the ram shield will not affect the performance of the tactical shield from the oppressor.

Did You know that when using RL in scope mode, the shielded Hog cant be targeted?
btw,the shield is easly disabled with tank shell or LAW and RL.:D

Yes you can attach the oppressors shield to anything but Icarus.

only the hog has built in shields.. all other vehicles have oppressors tac shields applied.

Watch the "instrument-panel" along the bottom of the cockpit...it lights up a little, as soon as you hit the Sprint key.

It reverts the normal force (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Normal_force) of any frontal collision.

Same goes for AVT's and base defence.

in theory, its not exactly like that in practice in this game. when ur keeping up with the same speed on some1 tail, and if he is moving away u will get continual collisions even though ur basically so close to each other that there is no kinetic energy swap.

Yep.. but the explanation behind it was that of the reversion of the normal force.. so.. I think it has more to do with your speed at the time of impact.

Very true. I guess it would be more accurate to state that the normal force would be partially reversed. Like 90% because there's always a slowdown on whatever you hit. And having a 100% reversing means that the hog would go trough anything like it's thin air, buildings, rocks, terrain, everything.
