Covert is my favorite class, so I'll share a few of my tricks and just general knowledge.
Strogg - Flyer Drone, Teleporter
Ah the Flyer Drone. One of the GDF's most hated things to see. Many ways to use this, but most simply try and find a spot to hide their body, and go fly it around looking for kills. A great spot for this on Sewer is the upper Strogg only entrance... look for a ladder on the wall within the Strogg base, go up and follow the path, you'll see a side shielded door to your left high up the wall. This spot can only be breached by a GDF Covert in disquise that takes a long time to traverse, so it's usually safe to camp in the upper tunnels.
Go prone when using the Flyer Drone. That way if it's destroyed you won't move forward when it switches you back to player mode.
Another good use of the Drone is in battle. Simply run around a corner from a pursuer, bust out the Drone and fly it back at him. Catches 99% of people by surprise.
The Teleporter is an under used piece of gold. Allowing you to reach areas others can't or unless they have an Icarus, you can find some mighty fine camping spots. Upon entering the inside part of Sewer, there is a ledge above the doorways... I love teleporting up there and camping any GDF entering the area... they never notice me til it's too late.
The Teleporter can also be used as a quick escape tool. Toss it near the hack objective, then run out and fight GDF...they about to kill you? Simply teleport to safety, get some Stroyent, and repeat.
Last but not least, flanking. In a gunfight with a GDF, shoot the beacon past them, teleport and then own them from behind.
GDF - 3rd Eye Camera
While most people love the Flyer Drone, I think the 3rd Eye Camera is much better. It has radar built into it, act's like a triggered grenade, and is very unobtrusive.
The radar can be used effectively since Strogg never notice the camera (throw it somewhere high) inside areas like Sewer, but it also can be used quite sneakily. If you managed to get into the Sewer and are about to hack, but Strogg are around... throw the 3rd Eye against the wall to the back, and then start hacking while watching the radar for nearby enemies. When they come for you, switch back to the 3rd eye and explode it... the only place Strogg can see you hacking is where the explosion will go off. Takes some time to perfect, but very effective when you get the hang of it.
Another sneaky way to use the camera is to simply throw it where you know Strogg will pass... and then wait til the opportune moment and destroy it with them in the blast radius. Spots like outside the shield they all run out of int he beggining, or those circular shielded tunnels that they mostly come into the sewer area from.
Other Notes:
Strogg Coverts can hack GDF base doors.
GDF Coverts in uniform can pass Strogg shield walls unharmed.
Mines are not triggered by a Covert in disquise.
Hacking deployable is mega-XP, like 4-7 per hack. Grab an Icarus and go behind enemy lines to gain some levels.
The ONLY way to tell for certain a Covert is in disquise is by their heavy breathing when they run alot. You show up on radar as friendly and look exactly like the enemy in every detail. In disquise make sure you let off sprint every now and then so your breathing doesn't give you away.
