Too true. Two guys I talk to every day used to be hardcore into W:ET and they don't even play ETQW at all. When they were coding ET Pro they used to play for hours at a time but I had a crappy box and couldn't join them. Now that I have a nice gaming rig they are off doing other things. I don't think Rain even plays anything on PC now and the only game I play with Zinx anymore is WC3. It kinda pisses me off. :p

I was a regular on the Chicken Bucket but I don't think anyone would remember me so I'll leave out my user name there.

Hmmm, come to think of it, I guess now that too little mates from ET or RTCW are playing because they got 4-5 years older. The older people get, the less time the RL allows for games. I am myself playing this game probably for the last month, since I got a job from June. Who knows what happens then.

I played a lot of RTCW up until about a year and a half ago. Would still be playing had things not died down as much as they have.

I think they didn't move to QW because the game is not suited for infantry fights like ET was. Slower, differences in weapons, vehicles, turrets and so on. The things that we see as cool in this game they see as obstacles. I wouldn't mind a sequel to W:ET however.

Hm... that's not really true... all my old W:ET friends (around 25 I know personally and in real life) have switched from W:ET, to ET:QW.

We had a LAN Party a few months ago and tried to play the old W:ET and realised that we can't play it anymore, it looks awfully, it's slow, no vehicles, and the like. And I know many others who think the same.

Sure, there are hardcore W:ET gamers out there... but there are also many who switched.

if we had another infantry-only map like volcano & salvage, we could have a infantry-only campaign for ranked servers

Hm... that's not really true... .

I said it was true for me.

If this question was asked around ETQW beta & demo I could say about 90% of my W:ET friend were testing the game but for sure didnt like it.

Good idea!

That and anyone could host a ranked server, would bring much good.

There are mix of people I used to play ET and Wolf with who are playing ETQW and there a few who have been lost to cod servers

I played a whole lot of RTCW, and our clan even competed in Proving Grounds (remember those days?) and OGL. We sucked in both so we never went over to CAL. Anyway, same name as I'm playing now, bu only a few of us went to W:ET. It used to frustrate me too much so I only played a little bit. I do love ET:QW though!

Most W:ET players who like it hard-core dislike this game in many aspects such as aiming(they say its harder to hit), movement(no strafe sprint) and mostly some weapons and vehicles.
Another reason to dislike ETQW is for the requirements to buy a new PC.
ETQW is great and all but it doesn't suit for the hard-core competitive side W:ET players who depend on their aim only.

I also dislike ETQW because i only get barely playable fps, but i still play it for its mods and fun.
