As you are spawning try holding down your “Run” key. You will notice that you begin moving forward as you drop. You can also steer left and right as you drop. There are some maps where you can steer yourself right on top of a vehicle and jump in hitting the gas, or land on the top of adjacent structure which gives you a better route towards the objective or a firing position for sniping or rocket support. If you don’t hold down your run key as you spawn, you drop straight down, and anyone that is stuck behind you (while spawning) is prevented from steering forward.
Strog players can both change weapons while dropping and fire while dropping. Remember to stop firing at your teammates when the game starts.
When you grab a vehicle that can carry more than one person on the initial spawn, it is always nice to wait a couple seconds for others to pile in, and, when you are driving a fully loaded vehicle it is nice if you don’t drive like me (a damn fool).
If an Oppressor is trying to set shields on a Hog, either let them have the Hog or jump in and run them over (I can never decide whether I prefer courtesy or elimination of the nuisance). Shields deployed on the front of a Hog can help absorb small arms fire and (I think) one shot from a tank, but, when placed poorly, they prevent you from firing your gun. These shields can be seen very well from a distance and tend to draw fire, so, if you plan on using a Desi from a distance, don’t shield up.
Sometimes, after the main spawn, there are no vehicles left but the Anansi or Tormentor. If you don’t know how to fly and don’t intend to use it beyond getting to the objective, leave it alone! Here is why….. When the Anansi and Tormentor are stationary, they can fire a whole pack of rockets at a target in a few seconds, which can be devastating. They can do this from a good distance which makes small arms fire ineffective and gives them time to launch decoys for rockets. The best way to counter this is to have someone flying against them (unless they are very, very good in which case they will just kill you and continue the slaughter). But, having someone flying against them will force them to keep moving and limit the effect of their rockets. If you take your teams’ gunship and crash it at the objective it will take time to re-spawn and during that time your team may get rocket raped.
Note: If the flyer is that good, try using a rocket artillery or plasma mortar which can be sight guided. You might get lucky!
All for now,

nice, I have always found it to be quite annoying spawning behind a player who just drops to the spot without moving thus preventing myself from grabbing the heavy before anyone else does :( etc.
and dont forget players who take forever to realise that no one wants a lift in the armadillo and its 'gogogoogogoooooooo' drive! dammit! :)

I usually honk once or twice, while looking around in 3rd person view & then rush off :)

Tell me about it. Especially if you see the other nubcake who did get it jump right in to the single armadillo and shoots right off so the rest of the team gets to walk.

i sometimes do that when there is an apc lying around. Makes 'nubes' take it and actually do something.

lol, I don't even have a 'honk' bind... maybe i could bind the honky noise with 'teamsay 'get in the dam car!' or is there an underscore before the vehicle horn bind? Oo

Way to go, telling Newbs to TK for a Vehicle after they got in. Not to mention a shielded Hog taking out tanks might be way more efficient than an immobile newb operating the HB.

Everyone should do this, I HATE getting stuck in a cloud of noobs when I spawn, having to wait untill they've decided where they want to get themselves killed.
Switching weapons while spawning as Strogg is hella usefull too, you can start running at full speed straight away. Damn GDF allways has to wait untill you land, ohhhhhh I hate it.
Strogg are so much cooler than GDF...

This please in BIG FAT LETTERS everytime the map is loading. :/

i must admit that is by far the most annoying thing in QW's gameplay. You wanna go back into action pronto and there is some guy afk, or whatever, that blocks the path and takes away precious seconds.

You should also warn that OMG YOU CAN pick spawn location AND YOU ARE NOTlimited to frontline. Its just not funny any more to see nubfaces spawn, grab all icarii/ dillos and go back to main base to grab a tank/flyer. Or worse, run on foot, and realise its been taken by someone else, and run back to frontline.

If there's a guy in your spawn who's AFK run him over with a husky. If you get off just before it hits him you don't even get a TK!

The other day I saw someone doing that on Slipgate, killed him twice while he was on foot running back to base... and I thought... wow...what's the point?

ok if anyone jumps into a sheilded hog, thats already occupied by a oppressor, they'd get laughed out of it,the point of the sheild is to NOT let the hypie fire, but to deflect A titan shot... the sheilded hog is a lone wolf tactic(i suck at it,i be too much of a support person),theres no point in sheilding the desi, the cyclops can be sheilded when in seige mode(give it pretty kneecaps)

best way - help them bind vsay or explain them , why VoIP so useful sometimes.
lol ...vsays are a waste of a bind... context menu has all the essentials
not 100% whether this is true or not but i think if you press crouch when you spawn you fall faster --
true or not, it's useless since it prevents you moving forward and so you gain nothing from it
lol you can lean in parachute too :P

I knew there would still be things to learn about this game! :D
Now that I know you can lean while parachuting, I'm finally on my way to becoming the ETQW champion!
lol :P
it s a shame you cant lean out window of armadillo and driver by with 2 soldiers spraying mp's at anything that moves or not, witha medic on the gpmg shooting the sky... and a HE charge planted on bumper

why do a driveby if you can drive them over!

you cant drive over someone where a vehicle cant reach
