When the MCP is disabled DON’T:
Run into it with a Hog
Shoot it with a rocket
Hit it with a violator*
Throw regular grenades at it
Fire at it from the Cyclops, Desicrator or Tormentor*

*Unless the enemy is approaching it and you have no other teammates around to support

When the MCP is disabled DO:
Set mines on it and in front of it
Hit it with scrambler grenades
Set yourself in a defensive position ready for the enemy
Check your radar
Fire at approaching opponents
Bring up additional vehicles into defensive positions

In General:
Be ready for the driver to either man the machine gun or hop out to repair
Make a note of offensive cover positions and periodically check them
Check your flanks for approaching enemies
Spot Snipers, vehicles, and artillery strikes for teammates
Keep your deployables up
Use a Plasma Mortar instead of the DMC or Rail Howitzer as you can follow the MCP, Titan and Anansi during the strike

Could you explain to me why you'd throw scramblers at a disabled mcp?

It gives the MCP a timed disable on top of the repair disable.

There is no point in doing it when no enemy are near, but if the engie's are approaching, it will prevent them from driving off even if they do manage to repair and can potentially kill the repairer.

I should add that the scrambler grenades are not cumulative, so don’t throw them all at once.

afaik, scramblers have no effect on a disabled MCP. I could be wrong though, never tried, because it's usually better to wait until it's repaired and then scramble it. You'd better kill the engineer instead if someone is repairing.

afaik they don't indeed...

a charge on a repaired MCP (or a disabled one) does do funny things.. :) it decimates the HP to 1.. so it'll take longer to repair.. did that a couple of times when Rawkitting :) disabled the MCP & gave us Strogg a chance to regroup (we got wiped by some unlucky mishaps.. lol

it only disables it for 5 seconds, so it seems like a waste to use them when there is no repair going on.

I concede the point. Shoot the engie, scramble the active MCP.

Scramble nade the MCP to disable it for 5 seconds to give your team time to do their thing. Disable it for 10 seconds and your should buy your team enough time to get a few oblit shots or lock a plasma on it.

its a good thing to throw a scrambler at an mcp that is about to be repaired; if you time it well you can disable it as soon as it gets repaired, nulifying any lemming engies progress, and allowing teammates to bring its health down to unrepaired state again.

Some good advice, Sakhmet.

Planting mines on/near an MCP can be a dangerous business if someone's inside it... Plant them at a safe distance so they won't explode and kill YOU once you finished arming them.

Another thing, Sakhmet mentioned it already in his first post, but it can't be repeated enough. Plasma Mortar is much, much, much better at stopping an MCP then a Dark Matter Canon is. You can re-target the shots while its moving and you can't do that with a DMC. Most attempts with a Dark Matter Canon either land where the MCP was long time ago or on your own team if someone else disabled it before the DMC strikes.

I don't like locking onto the MCP with Plasma Mortar. The great thing about Plasma Mortar is that you can re-direct your shots but you can't do that if you lock onto the MCP. It's never gets destroyed so your wasting precious shots after you disabled it. It's a great choice to stop it though and kill everyone approaching it but I don't see why you should use lock-on.

Rail Howitzer would be a good choice as well, but I'd use it once the MCP has been disabled by someone else. It's a good way to keep the engineers away from the MCP when they try to repair it. Don't target the MCP directly when you do that, target the path towards the MCP. A barrage will last 15 seconds, covers a big area and it will make it very hard for the GDF to get near it. That should buy your team some valuable time.

i realy agree with you i. i use 3 types of canons on 3 types of enemy structures.
1) rail howitzer/artillery is usefull at infantry in 12 weeked strikes but bobmard enemy longer time
2) plasma mortar/rocket artillery is usefull for locking on to vechicles, a specially for flying vechicles.
3) DMC/hammer when enemy plants deployables at one territory, near by each other, these powerfull canons is usefull for disabling them by one powerfull strike.

so as see i mentioned 1) infantry 2) vechicles 3) deployables

Run into it with a Hog
Lies, that's all you should do. In fact, the entire Strogg team should do nothing but drive around mindlessly in hogs and everyone else make explosions.

Just play before the mcp and kill the engies :D

Best strat as Strogg is to let a GDF (pref not Engie) sit entire map in MCP, without ever getting out, waiting for Engies to Zerg to Victory

Good opressors are are vital!Plazma mortar rocks. For me-best class when not using vehicle(cyclops or tourmentor). It takes ages to take cyclops to fireing position.Smart players spawn near cyclops, even when ist not required(Valley,Outskirts..)NOT Canyon map.Good way is to rape MCP with deci and tourmentor---->thats the main work ,keeping them busy, till heavy cyclops show up.This works for me.

you cant really affect getting out of the mcp when your strogg, eh? A smart mcp driver will either hop out and repair quickly or minigun everything in front to death, including heavy vehicles and deployables.

everyone this is the truth set in stone, cept i usually plop a timed dmc right on top of the mcp in valley,i time my strikes so i'll usually have one hitting right on front/top of it as it reaches the bridge, then hop into my desi up on the hill, blow the bejaysus outta anyone who goes near it(a good team will rocket the hell outta me in a few secs) but most just run at the mcp
