Wouldn't we know by now if the game is set to come out in a month? A lot of websites are saying June 5th, but it seems a little strange that we wouldn't have an official release date if we're so close to the rumored release date.

Im guessing late june-mid july. It definately wont be June 5th because they said 3-4 weeks before release there will be a demo. It's now 1 month from release and no demo. So by next week or week and a half if there is no demo then you can be sure it wont be a June 5th release.

It shouldn't be more then 3 months away. They have been working VERY hard and beta testing alot. The beta testers must have found new bugs or exploits that they are probably fixing at this moment and between now and 3 months there shouldnt be anything left except release the damn thing.

They just have to fix bugs for the game then re-copy the game into the demo because if a game has a problem then the demo will have a similar problem because the demo is a copy of the game just alot smaller.

Rather I think Splash Damage will release a public beta which will really just be a demo similar to what EA did for Battlefield 2. This will be given to major networks then sprinkle down by the end of May. Within days any fixs will be changed that are brought up in the stress test of the demo and the game will go gold. At this point Splash Damage will be screaming on the internet they have gone gold and ship it to activision for the approval process, then to the manufacturer to have them make copies.


Half-Life 2 went gold on Sep 26th

Was released November 16

So to be honest I doubt we see the game on our shelfs within five weeks, since their has been zero news other than finally getting an official community site. Bleh..

Of course this is all speculation since Splash likes for us to kick around the same old can, till we give up.

I think you guys are justified in your thinking. This game has been due for far too long, and while ID and Activision won't tell you till a week after it goes gold. You still won't see the game in a store instantly. Since May is here and passing without news from the developers, I think its safe to say better things are to come.

So if you really weigh the options in the upgrade department its only plausible to hold out. Wait for better Dx10 video cards to be released, and some sort of service pack for Vista. If you spend the money now on a computer your going to be left out in half a year having to either suck it up and upgrade your OS, GPU and possibly processor if you don't give a quad core now.

All for a game that might/could/maybe/who knows/possibly and at some point in the distant future be released when we will start to see not just better games but truly ground breaking games.

So don't give your money to these companies that offer pre orders for games that might be released in the distant future, fix your car bro.

I am expecting start of July honestly unless something is found during testing which can always push something back and normally something is always found. No worries though as I want them to delay this title as much as they need in order to ship a quality title we all enjoy.

Honestly, I don't think there's gonna be much of a beta with clans etc. Gamestop is known for releasing their stuff on time, and when SD gives a release date, you know the world's on its tilt ;) ...I'd say expect it on shelves by mid to late June.
