how to speak in the microphone

i don't know how to speak in the microphone could someone tell me

Seriously, there are two possibilities :

your microphone is badly setup in Windows (can u use it in different programs?)

Or you dont have a key binded for voice chat. In order to speak in ETQW you need to bind a key for 'voip', it can be global/teamchat/fireteamchat in the options/controls.

go to
options > controls > misc
scroll down to team voice chat (not team chat)
double click where it says "not bound" and select a key to use. (left alt 4 me)


then click on settings, then the voice tab
slide the 1st 2 sliders up 100%
put the 3rd slider about 1/2 (you can change these anytime)

hit test audio and speek into the mic while it says recording.
it will then play back the strip
hit apply
if you hear nothing your mic is probably muted in windows.

keep in mind that you will need to press and hold the key down while speaking ingame.
this is to keep all the background noises to a minimum (tv's, radios, sneezes, farts etc.)

1. loud and CLEAR.
2. bind key to toggle VoIP channels up(2 say in it). there are 3 channels(but engine supports far more) in ETQW game: Global, Team and FireTeam VoIP chats.
