Ok almost nobody seems to realize the real value of hogs ... they're ****ing great you know?

First of all the hyperblaster is easy to use and has high fire rate and reasonable damage but that isnt the only weapon the hog has... you'd think that the gunner in the hog has the only weapon but that's not true

very differently from the GDF the hog not only has a turbo but when using the turbo it throws up a small shield in front of the hog that doesn't seem to negate weapons damage but it negates damage from crashing into stuff.... so take that damn hog and turbo boost it right into a tank... the tank is gone and with some proper driver you have almost no damage!

Be carefull of frontal assaults vs tanks though... they only need 1 good hit and you go BOOM! while the tank is unarmed:mad:

works great vs other vehicles to :) best vs armadillo's at start of game... just intercept one and turbo shield into him... with luck he's carying multiple passengers and you get good XP ;)

Works against deployables to but not that well... can be usefull though if you go really fast so it deals enough (or near enough) damage to disable it... then you can still finish the job with the hyperblaster in gunners seat.

Also I wish Strogg had a Taunt like this: Mwuhahahhahahahh!

would sound kickass for strogg! :D

i always use hogs for ramming unsuspecting victims, at the start i hop into one and ram some guys coming from gdf base, after a tank comes i try to get behind it and ram it. best way to get behind is to spawn at the back strogg base(few spawn there, like all the icaruses and hogs are there too, why try to fight to get vehicles when some are standing there.

I'll say it again... the Hog is the hands down most deadly vehicle in the game. I'd rather run into a Cylcops than a Hog.

It's kind of fun now slamming into noobs driving stuff, not realizing the Hog is an instant killer of most vehicles...got a full Armadillo of GDF yesterday :)

The Hog is great. You can actually take the Hog to the second objective (planting explosives on the grate), it provides great fire support. The only way for the GDF to take it out is with a rocket launcher.

so people got lots of XP without vehicles in W:ET to... the point is the hog is a bloody jewel for taking out both infantry AND vehicles with more power then a Titan tank... and a titan tank has to hit a desececrator tank multiple times to call it ... one good hog charge and the Titan tank lies in pieces:O

also it's the only vehicle that can do this thing so the GDF basicly poo their pants when a hog comes in turbo and shield on straight for the front, they can't jump out in time and booooom! a whole squad of GDF sent to the death pool:p

yeh the hog is crazy, i like to quickly turbo out of spawn to that road thats to the right of the GDF bridge(as they come outof spawn) i then turn around and turbo charge into the back of there tank, then there APC/infantry etc lol.

The point was that I never left the Hog :D It was pure hogging for 3 rounds straight. I was just agreeing with you: it's a killing machine capable of destroying everything in the beta so far

I decided to try GDF today, I got in my tank at the start of the map and drove out the main gate. A Strogg Hog came flying over the hill top full speed at me, I tried to shoot my cannon but it was too late, it destroyed my full hp tank in 1 hit and drove on through.

I didn't have a clue what hit me, guess this explains it. Gunna try it out later.

yeah hog owns all vehicles lol especially considering its speed a good driver doesn't matter much in a Titan tank cause if he sucks at shooting he can't do much but put the same good driver in a hog and he turns in a killing machine

True it was my first time in the tank but even if I was in a Cyclops I think the bugger could hit me pretty bad.

well I usually get hit by Titans alot and normal gunfire alot... only the titans are a threat the normal gunfire hardly hurts and no one aims for the tires... if they all tried to shoot my tires then one would pop off and that would seriously decrease speed

also sometimes I go in a sort of suicide rush in hogs against titans... turbo really fast to them while they see me... sometimes they miss so with some luck I can take em down:D also once hit a titan but not hard enough to kill it then it had really low hp had to abandon hog trying to finish the job then titan shoot really close to self and the guy in it blows both me and himself up>.<

also if you can try to go hog style with an Armadillo :D if you see a hog cause escaping it is pretty hard so better to just run or try to turbo into so he doesn't hunt down your mates, did it today lol rammed hog in the side before he could turn also that guy was a good hogger had been killing lots of people with hogs o.0 but then I rammed him from the side and we both go boom but I got the kill and XP:p :infiltrator:

Another good tactic for the Hog I've been using recently is when the GDF hold the last capturable spawn. Drive the hog down the sewer runoff, turn around and park on the road between the EMP and final cap spawn point.

Wait for the GDF wave to respawn, give them 2 seconds then sprint straight toward the stairs 90% of the GDF go up to get inside... had 6 kills in one run doing this last night... the GDF rarely look behind them when spawning :P

I love adding insult to injury also... if you get run over by a Hog and it is blaring it's horn as it hits you... it's probably me :P

I sometimes do it to but not more in just a rush then pre planned:D it happened twice that one managed to get away... went all the way up stairs but couldnt get farther... it was really fun... especially cause those guys SAW ME! and they were like SHITTTTTTTTTTTT run run run! then bam driven over by an evil evil strogg:p

OK, yes, the Hog has a devastating ram attack, but it has very light armor. A tank can one shot it easily. If the tanker sees the hog coming, the hog doesn't have a chance. The best bet for a hog vs tank is to come up on it from behind when it's occupied to the front, or get it coming around a corner while it's re-loading. Otherwise you are pretty much dead (although with two tactical shields on you you can take a tank hit and get him before he has time to reload unless his first shot has you from way back).

Against just about all other vehicles the hog rocks.

throw a couple sheilds from the oppressor on the front of the hog and even a direct frontal tank hit wont kill you ;)

I personally thing the WORST thing in this game is all the whining from people that get killed by players using anythingto kill them.

I mainly play as the GDF, and love owning the hog with a titan shot and the icarus with my assault rifle/sniper rifle.

And it makes for a nice change of pace when I play as Strogg to zoom around racking up the road kill xp!

The icarus is cool, it is slow and easy to target to make up for its ability to reach high places!

The hog is great especially if you're a good gunner and can take out infantry as well. Also jump off an repair it every now and then between spawns of dead GDF and you're practically guaranteed to frustrate the heck out of them.

i agree that the icarus is annoying to operate some times... and it sucks when getting attacked by one too, but the hog? the hog ain't gay; is pretty amazing!

The hog is fine. You can rip a hog to pieces even with a standard assault rifle, not to mention GPMG and rocket launcher. In fact, you can kill it at a decent rate even with the sniper rifle. I've crippled several Hogs and shot down numerous aircraft with the sniper rifle.

As for the icarus, yes it's the only thing I'd want changed in this game. Not only does it give bunnyjumping a whole new meaning, it's also really hard to get a lock-on or hit the driver in it. It's a silly solo-whore vehicle for lone wolfs to stroybomb engineers or for oppressors and infiltrators to get to high ground.

No, the husky does not come close when compared to use and benefit.

No, the bumblebee does not come close either. In fact, jumping into a coffin slot on bumblebee is asking to get fragged.

A pair of rocket boosted rollerblades would be better than husky and bumblebee.

Shame GDF doesn't use the APC more though. The AA missile is awesome for killing troops, and the driver controlled MG rips into infantry as well, and it has decent armor.

Most GDF vehicles are only used as taxi's to the front, except the titan, and in alot of games, I even see Titans left unused at the rear spawns.

Hogs are a decent weapon, but not that much of a threat.... especially if you are on foot. I have side jumped a lot of hogs looking for roadkill..and often they crash into some object behind me and get stuck, just open fire with the AR and the Hogs pretty much toast.

I used to use the Hog more as a portable turret, takes out Aircraft and Infantry with the Hyperblaster easily, but I find too many players tend to say screw this and jump in the driver seat when I am shooting and take the Hog on a suicide run.

If, as GDF, you find the Hogs are getting out of control..go Rocket Soldier and ruin the Hogs day for a while...they will soon stop :p
