Quake 4

Hi Guys! What do you think about the game? I really like it, mainly the multiplayer :D .

I have an other question for you: I've installed patch v1.4.1 beta and I can't play with the single player mod. When the game is loaded in, it crashes all the time in the middle of the intro. If I skip the intro, it do the same at the first door which I want to go through. Anyone knows what could be the problem?

As you said it is a beta. Maybe you must contact id about it to let them know it?

Quake 4 rocks! but i still wanted some epic battles like in Call of Duty 2.

not really sure whats causing the problem, i never try beta patches.

Quake 4 is a VERY underrated game. Admittedly, Raven did do a slightly lacking job of it, but its still very fun. Great times with ra4.
Quake 4 coop would be the ultimate. I really wanna try the opencoop mod. The game has such a team-based feel to it that coop would work superb.

Got a reply from ID/Activision yet? Oh, by the way, if your loading a single player savegame from a previous version, it wont work. Other than that, it sounds rather odd. Reinstall?

I think Quake 3 is better in multiplayer. Quake 4's maps are WAY too tight. It mostly feels like one runs through some drainage pipes all the time. I hate not having any space to move around freely.

If Raven had polished Q4's multiplayer a lot more, or rather if they'd do it a lot more quickly, it would be okay. But the game's out over a year and it's just starting to get polished up properly. Too late.

I have to agree. Quake 3 has pretty much perfect Multiplayer. Although I find that Quake 4 is a little nicer for newcomers - it forces you to go head to head with an enemy, rather than longer distance warefare, which is what q3 can have.

I really liked quake 3 also thats where I first started mutiplayer. Quake 4 is a great value at 20 bucks. I was thinking of picking it up.

quake 4 singleplayer is broken in the 1.4 beta patch, so it wont work no matter what you try.
either use 1.3 or wait for 1.4 final

I really enjoyed the single player, much more so that DOOM 3. I haven't played much multiplayer, but I do agree it's rather underrated. For pure deathmatch fun, it does the job.
