I don't know if anyone who played ET is familiar with the Battle of Wolken series of maps I have been making but basically I intend to make a spin-off 'Wolken' map set during the Strogg invasion of Earth. For those not familiar with 'Wolken' then to cut a long story short it's a Land that was discovered by the Germans prior to WW2, in this land they are vast island that float in a sea of clouds, hence they named it Wolken (German for clouds). Anyway during WW2 there was a large battle in this land and afterwards the entrance was sealed away and knowledge of the land was kept away from the public.
Fast forward to the year 2061, Earth lies under siege by the Strogg, intent on stroggifying every last human being. The GDF (Global Defence Force) struggle hopelessly to protect the people of Earth. In disspair the remaining world leaders try to decide what to do. After much debate and discussion a solution is found. They decide to reopen the gateways into Wolken, the plan would be to evacuate the remainder of Earth's inhabitants to Wolken where they would remain safe from the Strogg for some time in which they can plan and prepare for a counter attack on the Strogg.
So anyway here is what I have planned for the map (only first drafts):

On the first half of the map the Strogg are attempting to enter Wolken however the GDF have managed to reverse engineer the Strogg's shield technology and have used it to cover the portal into Wolken. Any attempt by the strogg to walk through these shields will result in instant death. In order to bypass the shields the Strogg must utalise Infiltrators to hack the shield controls located to the Northwest of the Portals. If Done the Strogg will gain territory just outside the Portal Area and will be able to deploy from this newly acquired land and enter into Wolken.

On the second stage of the map we see the Strogg have entered Wolken but to get to populated areas they first must get out of the valley which is guarded by a large gun placement located near the exit of the valley however it is surrounded by unpassable cliff faces and tall walls, the only way to get inside is to construct a mining laser to blow open the main gate to the complex.
That's pretty much it for now, the second stage is intentionally left a bit empty as I have yet to decide on what structures would have been built in 'ancient wolken' that would still be around.
