HI!
Well, ive been playing RTCW since test 1(Nobember 2001 i belive?), someone else addicted to this game:rolleyes: ? I play on THE BEACH on 1.0 and on x-treme soldiers on 1.41

Used to play it, back in the 2001 too. But pretty much dumped it when W:ET was released :p

I used to play way back when. I also stopped when ET came out.
I do look back on my RTCW days very fondly infact its still one of my top 2 online first person shooters. It was the first game where i started playing in a clan and the first game that convinced me online was the way to go.
Best map: Funbeach!!

great game.. i installed it a while back and the servers that are left are all bastardized with mods and are a fraction of what the game used to be..
what i would give for a vanilla 8v8 the beach :(

i used to love rtcw too, recently tried getting into again but as someone else has stated the servers have been modified to a point where i cant be arsed to wait for the download for a half baked modification of a great game.

That was one of the 64 player servers, right? That was pretty cool, but also pretty annoying;)

anyone remembers map 'terrorism' that was SWEET. 5 and 10 sec resp, lots of close combat funny game. RTCW is great but, well mostly every1 dumped it when ET came out. And same will happen now i think with QW. Those who have weak hardware will probably stay saying some like QW is for noobs. But they just dont have the PC to support it and they look for an excuse:D

I started playing RTCW when the demo came out.
Then moved over to the [ID] servers. Then ET came out. Went over to nd80usa servers.
Good times and good memories.

Aye, RTCW was the game that introduced me to online play. Played it from the start til about 2004 when I got deployed. Played competitively for over 3 years and had a blast. Probably the best game I have ever played and it wasn't because of the graphics, movements, or anything in game. It was great because of the tight-knit community where everyone knew everyone else. *sigh* I miss those days :(

it was the best community, none of the crap you see about on alot of the newer games.
Played RTCW for years, loved it to bits.
Played at high level in clans and it was the best gaming experience ever.
I'm hoping Quake Wars can live up to RTCW.
