i wanted to know how many people have actually played ET in the past

I came to first person shooters late in life! I'd seen the earlier "mindless corridor" shooters way back and dismissed them, not paying much attention at all until "Call of Duty" caught my eye. After downloading the demo I was hooked, but still didn't play multiplayer for more than a year, as I hadn't a clue about on-line play at the time.

Naturally, when I took the step a whole new world was open to me. "Call of Duty 2", "FEAR", "Battlefield 2", then "2142" followed. However, as I said on another thread, no game has had me excited as much as "Quake Wars". Running around in circles (deathmatch / team deathmatch), or running around capturing flags is fine for a bit of mindless fun, but the idea of proper military objectives and moving front lines really grabs me. Hence my interest in this game.

Unfourtunately i come from the bf2 era. T'was dark times they were, it seemed they could not be worse, then, a majestic title named Quake Wars erupted and the bf2 era died away slowly.

Biggest dissapointment = 2142.
Close 2nd for sorrow = COD2.
Not too bad = Blackhawk Down-Sabre.
Alittle better = CS(any version)
Almost there = F.E.A.R. ( Love that nail gun!)
All others(too many to list) = soso
Played alotta MOH(all versions) before ET.....

It's just my kinda luck that my Fav Game (ET) is the ONLY free one! :rolleyes:

I think that EA/Dice's mismanagement of Battlefield 2 and 2142 will be a good thing for ET:QW.

Every time I start up BF2142 it just annoys me that I paid money for this. Buggy when I first installed it and a bunch of patches later it's almost even worse. The latest patch even introduced a bunch of new problems, without actually fixing anything major.

My point being that you should expect a lot of Battlefield players. :P
