Unranked Server Settings

Hello Forum,

I know this Forum is not the best, but I try to prevent that it will be lost in the whirlpool of posts in the public beta chatter. I want to set these settings in my unranked server under windows and later under Linux:

- Admin Login in Game
- Control the Gameplay Speed to make the Game more tactical
- RCON Password for in Game Administration

I said it before:
In Doom 3, you can configure game speeds by changing pm_crouchSpeed (http://www.modwiki.net/wiki/Pm_crouchspeed_%28cvar%29) and pm_runSpeed (http://www.modwiki.net/wiki/Pm_runspeed_%28cvar%29) CVars.

Which reminds me that I'll try to get the current list of CVars on Modwiki sooner or later so you don't have to use listCvars.

If the above two CVars don't work, try to run "listCvars *speed*" in the console.

thank you for your help. It works fine. These are my favorite settings at the moment:

pm_runspeedback "140"
pm_runspeedforward "160"
pm_runspeedstrafe "140"

pm_sprintspeedforward "280"
pm_sprintspeedstrafe "160"

pm_jumpheight "32"

I am only unsure about this variable:

pm_walkspeed "128"

The modwiki describes it with "speed the player can move while walking". But all movements speeds are set by the variables above. So what is the function of it? Anyone knows what this cvar controls? Are the pm_stamina* variables also implemented? Generally the other variables are really a great function!

Surely walkspeed controls the speed you walk? I think the default button is ALT to walk slowly.

CTRL or ATL = Walk
Shift = toggle run or run.

well...this is very disappointing: so if u want to setup a slower server, u have to change like 20 or 30 paramethers?? for example:
run speed
sprint speed
crouching speed
titan speed
hog speed
hog sprint speed

and so on?? UGH!
it is not possible to set a "multiplier" to these parameters, like: 0.50 = all of these speeds halved??

its just a beta.. im sure once they actually unlock the pk4 files people can create mods for the game.. like most online games, the mods for the game usually gain more popularity than the original game itself cause they tweak things like that or make it easier.

Considering the game isn't really meant to be played like that, no it's not possible.

50% is only an example...when they told that whit beta2 we will be able to set different speeds servers, i thought that a parameter like a multiplier (see UT04) would be accesible by server admin.
Changing soo much parameters instead, is not a matter for server admins...is a matter for modders....well, at least i hope the final server-launcher will have way more options!
