If the MCP is so close to the base, and there are 4 engies, you now only need a few. Rest of the classes support engies in fixing mcp. Get 2 covert ops to the site where the shield generator would land. Go through the sewer route. Just as the MCP gets fixed, the MCP fires missile, and the shield generator zaps it. If 2 covert ops are there at the time, the guy would say "Shield generator destroyed we're hacking the shield generator." Works every time, not to pro teams though.

The problem with strogg is that they seem to always try to defend the MCP when it is already at the outpost. I would recommend going directly to the shield generator landing site. Or maybe get a few strogg to check that site to see no one is there. It is bad when cvops start hacking before strogg even arrive.

And for the love of god. Please peoples. Learn about the sewer route. It is your best friend and worst enemy.

What I do is I destroy the sewer grate first. Hopefully the engies already fixed the bridge.

I then try to support the mcp in getting to the base. If the MCP is so close, like a few meters close, I switch to cvops, go through the sewer route, and camp at where the shield generator would land.

After hacking, I switch to soldier, and using the same sewer route, I blow up contaminator.

Lesson to learn is to protect both routes. Even if it means having one or two strogg protecting the sewer route.

The problem I have is I can get about half the generator hacked before I get picked off.. but by the time I get back to it, it has reset.

i hacked the shield generator on my own yesterday i was running round and round it with some guy in an icarus trying to kill me :p

I normally help my team with the bridge then go for the grate. If im strogg once the mcp is at the outpost i camp in the sewer exit building, this way i can kill anyone hacking or anyone coming from underground (well at least try to)

Strogg constructors should lay some mines around the top of the exits from the sewers - they are hard to avoid when you're getting off a ladder.

I'll share the best tactic in helping a hack complete on Valley... the AA vehicle.

It fits through both sides of the building in front of the hack, and fits perfectly to drive in circles around it. Strogg Cyclops/etc usually doesn't notice me in there, and I simply drive in circles using the machine gun to kill Strogg.

It may sound weak, but it works... covered 2 coverts this way last night hacking, and got 10+ kills at least each time I got the AA vehicle in there :)

You can go there with a tank from behind too. I played a bit more and it starts feeling like camper paradise with all that spots for snipers and tank whores.
