Just as the topic title says, "Whats your 5 most memorable moments in Gaming?" Be as geeky as you like, we're all in this together.

1. W:ET: I was a covert ops for the axis on the Seawall Battery level. I managed to get disguised, and I headed the long way round to the allie spawn point, where I was welcomed by being given gifts such as health and ammo by the allies. Once I was armed up, I got the knife and managed to stab 3 yankies in the back!

2. Doom 2: Back in my Primary school, there were components for about 7 computers, which I was allowed to set up. Instead of just making them work, I installed Doom 2 on every one. Me and my fellow students got to play Doom every break! That is, until the Jocks told our teachers what we were doing...

3. First play on an XBox: New Years eve 2002 was my first xbox encounter, and was the first time when I played a game all night. It was Unreal championship.

4. Serious Sam 2 Demo: Me and my brother used to piss around on this crazy game. After we chopped some trees down, all I can remember was laughing! Those guys with no heads cracked me up!! "Aaaaaahhh!!!!"

Tie for 5th. Doom 3/First (and only) LAN:The first game I bought when I got my own PC was Doom 3. I would only play it in intervals of 2-5 minutes because it was way too scary. I've still got to complete it :( As for my first lan, it was at a Mountain-Biking buddys house, with about 20 of his mates. Boy did I kick arse in UT04 :D

So what are your most memorable gaming moments?

1. Diablo 2. Oh man i had some crazy fights in that game. It was a vicious world out there and i was with a band of friends fending off monsters in dungeons. Those were the good old days, Where did the times go.

2. Unbeleivably, before EA screwed it up, i had some great fun with BF2. I remember defending some flags as hard as i could with my friends and placing C4 all over the flag so if our position was ever comprimised, BOOM! down they went and we worked hard to keep em off of it. Then EA patched a good game and turned it into crap.

3. Age Of empires 2 I remember i was around 11-2 years old and i would just play that game for hours on end. It never got boring for me. I remember making a skirmish, because i didn't know about multiplayer, and i would go on an island and make 2 walls and a few ports for some battle and transport ships. I also made plenty of cannons to defend my little island. When my army was ready i set out to conquer the world.

4. Starcraft, there were alkot of custom maps but ill tell you my favorite one. It was called Lava Run. What we had to do is escape the lava and while me and a few friends ran other people would build building in the way of the lava. Of course the lavva would destroy the buildings but as we ran away there were obstacles and we needed to make units to destroy whatever was in the way so if you ran, you had to builds units, if you stayed behind, you needed to make walls to slow the lava down.

5. Finally, i would say Warcraft 3 I remember playing this one type of game called Kodo Tag. there were these monsters called Kodo's and they were bots, and what you needed to do is build structures to keep the kodo away but they could destroy them. So you needed to make money and build defence structures to keep the kodo's away. I loved that one.

I love heroic games where the odds are stacked against you but you manage to pull through with wits. I love feeling like a hero. Let's see what other have to say.

1. Super Mario World - First Getting Yoshi.

2. Super Mario 64 - Everything, simply everything.

3. Starcraft - The first Terran defend for 30 minutes mission.

4. Half-Life - The introductory tram ride through Black Mesa.

5. Final Fantasy VII - Damn you Sephiroth, damn you!

In no particular order:

Medal of Honor/PSOne: The mission where you escape through some french sewers. You can hear halftracks rumbling through the streets above you, houses are being stormed, orders shoutet. Really nice atmosphere there.

Final Fantasy 7/PSOne: Yeah, I know, highly overrated game. Aeris death scene however was really sad. :(

Operation Flashpoint/PC: The second(?) mission, where you are seperated from your platoon and have to fight your way through a wood to a small village. Still can hear the radio message: "Papa Bear, do you copy, I'm on my own...". Well, the whole game was quite an experience.

Silent Hill series/PS2: Especially SH2. This game really scared me to death. Some tight atmosphere. No other game can even get close to it. (And no, I wasn't scared by Doom3 at all).

X-Wing/PC: Very old DOS game, but for SW Fans/nerds a gem in gaming. I will never forget my first close encounter with a Star Destroyer. ^^

No particular order

Duke Nukem 3D - The strippers may have had tassles, but you sure as hell didn't see them that often in computer games.

Quake - Full 3D graphics and full 3D body parts! My Dad was blown away when he saw a full 3D severed head.

Max Payne - You can't deny that it was awesome using bullet-time in Max Payne.

Thats all I got :/

Haha, the strippers in Duke nukem! They were quality. I was like 6 when I played that, and the challenge was to save the game at the exact same time as there was nipple-exposure (before you loaded the samegame, there was a screenshot of the exact moment of the save, so if you saved it right, you could constantly see those babies :P). Now thats geeky!

QUAKE 3 ARENA : hours and hours spend on the test and then demo ( linux of course ) so much time that when the full version came out i was burned out, ( letterly i would get home from high school on firday and not sleep till sunday night )...

Wolfenstein ET : the fact that i've been playing it for so long now i can't remember one event... oo wait, the other night when i got a noob to blow the dump on FATT (204.9.137.138:27960 ) that was fun, well and knowning if i don't go out this weekend i'll be playing wolf et my one true friend. :-) ahhhh. unlike my punk car that likes to not run when i get to the race track .... lol :-)

1. Playing the original Quake one night with Stevie "Killcreek" Case.... enough said....

2. I probably am a bit older then most of you youngsters but my first taste of video games came when my dad gave me a Atari 2600 console for Christmas. Pong and Tank Wars....got to luv it...

3. Playing Quake in OpenGL with the NIN tracks playing in the background for the first time with my Vodoo Graphics Card...

4. 20 vs 20 Call of Duty UO Domination Scrimmages with my clan mates...

5. Capturing and Holding the EU Outpost for the entire round on the Map Fall of Berlin with my clan mates. 64 slot server... We won the map 1 ticket to 0....

Bonus:"i have been around long enough i earned the extra" being Jihad Jeeped in 2142 inside a Tiger Tank only to have the tank flip upside down and right itself instead of being destroyed. We survived! Don't you just laugh every time you play a EA game.

The most memorable moment was when I logged into PlanetSide for the first time. There has been no other experience in FPS gaming since then. The feeling is indescribable.

Ah SniperSteve must have seen what I did back in early Planetside days. Granted the title became old hat quick it was incredible seeing the mass amounts of people going at one another. I remember having my team join a few others from our faction to go on a raid. There was a line of tanks some 50 deep waiting to warp in the game not to mention the air power and what not. Was incredible and in my opinion a glimpse of things to come one day. Why no one has not made a modern military based MMO I have no idea.

So many highlights really. I am one of the old timers here I'm sure. I started the hobby with Pong and been at it ever since.

I remember the first time I played a military online warfare title with others. Delta Force the original was incredible for its time.

Joint Operations was incredible for its day & night cycling. Not to mention 150 in a server going at one another. Sadly ruined by a horrible patch.

Call of Duty had some very special moments with my mouth hanging open saying damn that was cool.

So many titles and so little time lol. I have a closet filled with such. Half I haven't even played lmao.

4) BF2 Project reality: awesome game with some random people all talking over comms and defending this little outpost with everything we had left, we were totally surrounded but we managed to hold them off, all the while bullets were flying left and right and pinging off everything you could see.
5) Serious Sam: getting the minigun, and mowing down hundreds upon hundreds of harpies and watching them all fall from the sky was an awesome feeling :)

1. Years ago playing one of the Street Fighter games against my friend's older brother who considered himself a bit of a pro, me being a PC-only gamer at the time I just button mashed my way through. I won the first game I played and he slammed down the controller and stormed out of the room in fustration.

2. Any of the BF2 C4 kills on tanks / APCs where I gave the driver time to actually see you before you detonate the explosives.

3. Playing a co-op mission map in GRAW on 360 with a few guys, with them being killed off early on they more than likely didnt expect me to finish the mission alone due to my inferor skill. Ended up pretty much one hit away from death waiting to be extracted but managed to hold out not only gaining the achievement for myself, but a few others in the game.

4. Javert mentioned the hold out for 30 minutes mission on Starcraft, I agree, a great mission from a great game.

5. Gears of War, train wreck mission on the final act. After battling your way up the train reaching the locked door and hearing 'Are you kiddin' me? Beserker!' a total 'no ****ing way' moment.

Can't think of five. One that I do remember was a "Call of Duty" multiplayer game where I threw a grenade into a doorway rather too hastily, as it hit the edge of the doorway and bounced back towards me. Just as I was preparing for death an enemy soldier ran out of the door "spraying and praying", got between the grenade and me, and got blown to crap!:)

5.) Getting in the back of a truck in a CSS match with smoke grenades and yelling on vent "If you don't get in the truck you don't get to work!" BK Clan was fun for the one season we did it. Other clans didn't seem to understand and just wanted the match to end as soon as possible. It's too bad more people don't understand that games are for fun.

4.) My brother and I finding our Christmas present one year, and opening it up and playing it. It was a Sega Genesis. I had just about beat Sonic the Hedgehog before Christmas had gotten here. :x

3.) FFVII Aeris Death Scene. The only time I ever actually threw a controller down on the ground. I refused to play any games for a week after.

2.) ET - This is the game that pulled me away from QWTF/QWMTF. There are a couple of moments that really come to mind for this game. My noob clan that eventually evolved into a pretty decent clan that almost won Beta championships one year in TWL. Back when we were new to the game we used to scrim against Ascend who would rip us a new one on the regular. We did manage to take 1 round from them on Battery even though there was a large gap in talent. Also I remember playing on Ice and the other team had the docs with about 30 seconds to beat our time. A teammate and I are running to the cap spot, and the teammate gets taken out trying to cross the open space. I make it to the building and hide inside. 4 of the enemy round the corner one of them having the docs. I pop out as they come triple dink, triple dink, out of ammo then finish off the doc holder with the pistol. I sprint and return the docs just before the 4th guy can kill me.

1.) QWMTF playing top ele pyro on 2fort5 and making people cry about it. Then on IRC asking people if they still think pyro is a useless class. Learning the magic of bunnyhopping in QW. RTS vs. M on impact1 in STA I think. I wasn't supossed to play demoman or "grenadier" for those who have played other versions of TF. We had just gotten a new guy who was supposed to take over that position, and the clan leader told me that I had to pipe. I was supposed to play short side pyro. Shut the other team out the first round even though they sent 6 offense towards the end. Was probably the best I played in a match for that game. There is still no game that quite matches MTF in speed and chaotic action. It's too bad that most editions of TF today emulate TFC or Q3F. Q3F is still pretty fun, but the original and the MTF mod of it are still the most fun to play. A note for those who don't know. TFC for half life is not the original Team Fortress mod. Also one last thought. Props to Splash Damage for Q3F and ET two of my favorite games of all time, and I'm expecting ETQW to be just as good if not better.

I don't think I can post 5 moments, can only remember one, but still funny in my point of view.

Battlefield 2142. (Don't mock me! I had faith in EA those days...)

Well, I had been playing for two days and I came on the map "Camp Gibraltar". I spawned as PAC, when I wen't around the map all my team mates where running from EU's with knives, I had no idea what they were doing, I fired a couple of headshots on one of the EU guys, still alive, I shoot a full magazine on them, still alive, and before I knew it I was surrounded by them and got knifed.
I realized that the EU had maded themselves invinceble against primary/secondary ammunition and grenades. (Damn hackers!)
My self being creative tried all kinds of things to get them down, nothing worked, but then it struck my mind that I could try to take them down with the Electro turrets. (I'm a master in those turrets, I got tha skillz in aiming.)
So I mounted up in one turret in the middle of the streets, waited for the EU's to go pass me in their search for PACs. Three guys arrived and spotted me inside the turret, they walked slowly, completely sure that nothing could harm them.
After three shots, they're dead, and I spended the rest of the day camping in the turret, killing them everytime, eventually they left, but that was a fun 6 hour camping.

(Don't flame me for camping... They deserved it!)
