Tribes was good, I bought Vengeance from play.com for about £3.00 (which was defiantly worth the money!) I loved the whole jump packs and ski movements, the grappling hook was fun aswell. But it just didn't seem to have much of an active online community. I played through the single player missions and then tried a bit of multiplaying but left it at that.

It seems to have died a very similar death to what (in my mind) was the best multi-player game ever... U2:XMP!

I think my favourite multiplayer game ever was (and well, is) Quake Team Fortress. The first one.

That and Monster Match.. damn that was fun.

The firts Tibes was just excellent i played it untill Tribes 2 came along then i lost
interest in the series,but they did give multiplaying a refresh aproach,hopefully
QW does the same.

Didn't play one and two but played t:v for a looong time, still one of my favorite games ever just for the complexities afforded by the movement system (and yes, the grappler too)

if you guys have only played T:V, you owe it to yourself to check out Tribes and Tribes 2.

Although they are pretty much dead now too :(

Tribes 1. Greatest game ever. The first (as far as I know) multiplayer only shooter, I ended up playing it for about 6 years. The movement, skiing, and jetpacks truly made for some unique and fast gameplay that still hasn't been beaten imo. Your greatest shot ever in a 'walking' shooter cant compare to a situation where an enemy is flying toward your flag at 200mph and you calmly fire a disc to intercept his path resulting in a midair kill.

Tribes 2. An initial mess for those that remember. Very low frame rates in the intial days with bugs galore, it ended up having a following, but never captured the same movement of the original til a mod came along trying to fix it. Still a fun game, but the nerfed skiiing of the original put me off it.

Tribes Vengeance. I actually liked this game, but it was doomed from the start. Any new game needs new players, and any noob seeing me easily evade anything they could do with a combination of my jetpack and the grapple would get frustrated and quit. Plus WoW came out soon after and sucked up all my time.

I'm hoping eventually some dev's will remake Tribes 1, and not try and add to the game like Tribes 2 or Vengeance.

played tribes 2 and it was soo cool, i just loved it, later when i got tired the construction mod woke me up.
i felt no bad frame rates in the game, u shure u downloaded the patch?

8 years of Tribes in my life, and still playing T2 practically daily. I would be playing tribes 1 if my school campus didn't block the freakin master server.

Me too but I have played Tribes 2 when it came out in 2000 it was a blast but I did not start playing tribes till 2001 , there is a server up called EWo they have a server that runs ok but not bad but I am on DSL also on the east coast , the server they have up is on the west coast .

yea the EWo server is a base server, which im not to fond of because the skiing is ****ing horrible. Slow as balls. But when base++ and classic came out, thats what i've grown attached to and refuse to play anything else.

Theres a dedicated Kata server (retarded) called =Rebels= Katabatic which is version 2, which usually has people playing in it every day and its a fast. i just fart around lancing everyone :D

yea, the construction mod was fun, tho some noobs made lagcannons to make everybodys day miserable, some made quite interesting buildings.

Tribes 2 was awesome, but my favourite game of all time was Q3F. The ups, the downs and the memories. Was awesome.

tribes sucked...rtcw was better
