I really really am sick of BF2 after something like a thousand hours playing it. I just can't handle the repetition of it anymore so... until quake wars comes out I want another game to waste my time. Any suggestions? Preferably I want something that plays good but is also shiny since I want to get some bang out of my new PC but can also be found in the bargain bins <_<.

Yeah, but it's kind of ancient which is what I'm trying to avoid >_o.
still lots of people playing, and if you haven't played it yet, you should, it's a good indication of QW playing style

Id pick et because quake wars has alot of similarities from et.

I'd suggest playing some of the more single player oriented FPS games for a while as a distraction.
Then when you go back to battlefield it will feel more entertaining once more.
If you want to test your comp and play fps single player you might want to go quake 4. At full graphics it will give most machines a run for their money and it is the same engine as et:qw in some regards so it could give you practice with things like basic console use/config setting up/look of the game in some ways.

Counter Strike Source, Dawn Of War Dark Crusade, Company of heroes, Call of duty 2, Half life 2 and episode, Chronicles of riddick:escape from butcher bay, Quake 4, Doom 3, FEAR, Stalker is what i recommend as good games...

Ancient but fun
Troof, I just reinstalled it after getting rid of it a couple of months ago. The Desert Conflict Mod is pretty sweet, with the flyable C-130. Now 2142, I can't stand that anymore. Come on First Strike Mod.

i know what u mean by bf2 getting old :D
then after it got old, I installed a lot of games
Need for speed, supreme commander, company of heroes, age of empires, jade empire, et(for the millionth time :D) and some others.
and if i get bored, i mess around with pivot animator or flash :)
keeps me goin, ya know?

I'm with ya InsideTheAsylum. Although the title I am sick of is BF2142. Last night a swear they have done something to Punkbuster again as many none cheaters are getting booted for packet loss and what not again. I had some fun times with it more than I did BF2 which is funny considering it is more or less just new skins placed over the same engine. Any rate hopefully we can retire both the BF titles soon enough.

I second the recommendation for STALKER. It has amazing single player and should keep you occupied for a while. I also really enjoyed Prey, although that opinion is not shared with many. There's also a free multiplayer only release of F.E.A.R., called F.E.A.R. Combat. It'll be more taxing on your system than ET, but I would say that ET is far better in terms of gameplay.

ET is older than the new batch of games (BF series particularly) but it still has a better gameplay than them.I barely even play any BF2/2142,but I play ET on regular basis.Its not about the eye candy.So go with ET.

The only problem with ET is that it doesn't look good and it doesnt support 1680 x 1050 res.
