View Full Version : jumping over the destroyed bridge (strogg)

Hey i just tried some times yesterday an realised that you could reach the GDF Site of the destroyed Bridge with a good circlestrafe as strogg. you need to be on strogg side because there is a little edge on GDF where you need to jump on. Didnt see someone do it ingame so i just wanted to tell. Will train it and use it more frequently. If someone is building the bridge, definetly one of the best possiblitys to stop him ;)
I have tried to do a simple strafe jump, but I am unable to do it. Someone should do a QW trickjumping tutorial video or something.

well i was unable to do it some week ago, but with the new speed im shure i can do it. TJ seems so different from ET, need to get used to the feel.
search in the forum for "Strafing tutorial" or something an you should find some vids :)

If you have your pistol out it's not much challenge to clear it.

to get in the strafe feeling and gain speed you need 2 jumps before you take the bridge,
you can get over it if you strafe serious..

actually its harder because you have to hit the ledge at the right spot without slowing down, and you dont get much acceleration by doing it with 2 jumps

- Did you have 0XP? (Did you have the speed upgrade?)

I did it on empty ranked rackage server, just connected and recorded few demos with 0 XP (but i cant do it every time, i do it in one of 3 tries :p ).
Lately i did it in few wars, it really worked :D

Now i just realized that its harder to do (for me atleast) if you are aggressor/soldier even if you have spikes/knife out instead of heavy weapon :eek:

You can use sprint+strafe+jump to get on top of the tunnel on the MCP deploy end also as GDF. I don't see many people doing this, but it is immensely helpful - tree's cover you from Strogg snipers on the right top mountain, you can snipe or rocket down into the MCP deploy point, etc.
Simply run out of the side door, or to the right outside of the tunnel, and go right up the slope.

You gotta strafe to the sides and jump before the edge, it's cake, I can do it with a laceator/assault rifle, without a circle strafe of course

This jump is pretty easy, easier than a lot TJ in W:ET.

You don't have to sprint, jump or strafe at all to get up there and i'm doing that pretty often ;)
