problems with colors in banners/ messages

Hey guys,

I just set up the banners via pb (while the QW banners are bugged due to the loopdelay bug) and solved the problem with color tags by finding out that you have to use '^1' to put the color tags into the lines.

Only now when I m writing '^2'M'^7'c'^2'Nite it gives spaces like this: M c Nite

Ideas anyone?

in WolfET and several other Q3 engine games.... the color codes ^a, ^b, etc.... don't need to be enclosed in single quotes (if you are doing it that way)

in ETQW and the NEWER Id games - and with my username anyway - it works without quotes... so it goes like this: ^9|^?WCK^9|^?M^9urder^?F^9ace

try it and see if it works... maybe the game engine is interpreting the quotes as spaces (?)
