i don't think there is the facility out of the box. I could be wrong..so I'm no help at all really :D
What I was more interested in, is why you would want to do this? I wouldnt have thought that quakewars style would lend itself to limited lives....after all, surely its about wave after wave battling against each other and pushing and pushing until the objective is done.
Be a bit annoying if you pushed three times, got taken out by OMGHAX!!'s APT and thats the end of the game :p
Or have I misunderstood you?

you sure ?
Quite sure.
Whether it's planned for a patch, who knows. But it's not in right now.

maybe you caould enforce a local server rule, whereby if you get shot three times..you have to stay lying down and are not allowed to get up until the ref blows his whistle :p

The basic gameplay dynamics are similar to ET/RtCW and limited lives servers (at least the ND80 community) were a fun place to play. I was particularly impressed with the length some medics would go to try and revive fallen teammates so the teammate didn't lose a life.
Normally the offense side would start with quite a few more lives than the defense side.
Ah well perhaps a patch or mod will address this at a later point.

At this point it looks like a mod will have to add this functionality. I know many people in the other limited lives threads are worried that ET:QW is just too different of a game to support that playstyle but I disagree.
A good mod that allows us to tweak setting like life limitations, vehicle spawn rates, and re-spawn invulnerabilty times should allow for some fun alternative setups to the standard shipping game.

i think rtcw came out with this mod when the game was already dead.

No, it was available with RtCW from day one.

In RtCW the OLTL servers rocked... very tough and skilled games on there. I don't think ET:QW will be as fun cuz the maps are too big... you d need at least to get rid of all vehicles, and have a seriously longer rocked reload time. RtCW maps rocked though.

a convincing argument.... hehe reminds me when I was playing guildwars and the Healer was hiding off on the edge trying to bring us back one by one...
why the hell the warrior monk used to keep getting killed 1st.....he used to run in a draw all the mad bastard pirates out to kill us all!!

Limited lives servers rocked my socks. Medics had a use on those servers and people would be cautious as if their lives actually meant something.
