FATAL ERROR: Failed to restart with pure mode restrictions for server connect

Everytime I try to direct connect to a server, (manually inputting the IP), the game crashes back to the console and I get this.

I can connect to other servers, but can't to my own. Any ideas?

there's a "server readme" in the documentation. maybe read it before you start a server ;)

you want to run a server and start the client on the same computer?

Ok I have searched the forums for an answer to this question but the best answer i have so far is there is a readme file in the documentation.

I and others are having a problem joining any us ranked servers. every time i click on one i get booted out of the game and get the message posted above.

I have not modified anything i am not even running an autoexec.cfg
