The attitude of the majority of this community is pathetic.

- The first issue is with server admins. They put messages in the loading screen rules like "no cheating/glitching/hacking", "cheating will get you banned" or "respect admins". These messages sum up quite well what kind of people are running servers. Do they think putting the no cheating messages in the loading screen will deter some one that was about the cheat, or that cheaters had no idea it might be against the rules and needed to be displayed between every map? Maybe they are closing a loop hole where a cheater could continue to cheat because it was not first declared in the rules that cheating wasn't allowed!

The second rule dealing with respect is also just as dumb. When in these peoples lives has demanding respect ever yielded results. If you are looking for respect, trying giving it [earning it]. I guess these people don't want respect, they want mindless drones to populate their server. I think they will find bots accomplish this feat quite well, get used to it.


- The second issue is the players. Dedicated players that make up the backbone of the community [players that get better and on average, are more skilled than white name noobs] are treated like witches. Head shooting and using the radar is witch craft, kick him! I see attempts to votekick the most skilled person on the server by some nobody that is terrible at the game because he got pwnt. The sad thing is, because as I said earlier, the average population is terrible, there is a decent chance a vote like this will pass.

Some one attempted to votekick me yesterday because I got 5 badger MG kills. The evidence I needed kicking was for accomplishing this "impossible" feat. Clearly you don't belong in ETQW if you can pull this off.

Today, votekicked twice because I have a long name/clan name by, the worst person on the server. He accused me of "glitching". Apparently choosing a name and clan name both within the restrictions set up by SD can get you kicked if the worst person on the server is offended at a unique name [he was a white name noob, big surprise]. Don't expect any help from the rest of the server when a terrible person puts your playing to a vote... prepare to be disappointed.


The attitude in Enemy Territory on average was so much better than it is here. You would think it would be the reverse because ET's barrier to entry cost is so low... but no, something about this game attracts a higher concentration of the type of people that kill a community. I suppose it could also be that the good players were driven away by the terrible ones, leaving an ultra high concentration of terrible.

As a long time player of RTCW, ET, ETQW (and beginning to play with Wolfenstein) we have been playing a lot of ETQW recently via LAN. With the instructions available out there for playing longer than 3 map campaigns, we have enjoyed the ability to have a game night in which we can all grown in XP throughout the night.

We would really like to play a stopwatch campaign, however, and am wondering if there is any way to do this. Everytime we play a stopwatch map the XP resets after every map.

Is there any way to create a campaign that runs the stopwatch mode (other than including the map twice and manually switch teams)?

I have logged 2000+ hours and lister is in the top 100 in xp, if that matters in any way. I play alot, actually not so much recently as lister, more as my one smurf but way too much, probably 5 hours a day or more. Mostly i'm telling you this to cut down on the your a stupid nub comments.

I have noticed something which bothers the hell out of me. I can't hit high pings worth a damn, i aim at em, in front of em behind em doesnt matter, The higher the ping differential the worse it is. This is the only fps game which having a low ping seems to be a disadvantage. Early in the morning when all the euros are on taco or ! i am lucky if my acc reaches 28% but if i play against normal pings(sub 100) i usually am at 35%+. I have decent hardware, i have played with netclientprediction moving it from 0 - 40 to see how it works, nothing helps. Is this only a linux client problem? do elite players see this $%#$?

I occasionally kill some of the best players in the game one on one but almost always lose one on ones with 300 pingers to say its frustrating is an understatement.

We were playing Quarry today when StemicJr-_F3_ suddenly noticed that there were 4 cells on the map instead of the usual 3. Two cells were delivered to the the ship already but the first and the 3rd cell were still outside.

You can see the two cells on the console and the two icons for the first and third cell in the right corner of the screenshot. I started to record a demo shortly after wards, but I can't play it. The game crashes the moment the map is loaded. I can upload it if people are interested but I doubt it will play on other peoples computers either. I think the game chokes on having 4 cells on that map.

Strogg won the map, but they only had to deliver 3 cells for that. Not fair!
