Making mistakes is not a problem, everyone had to learn at some point. I can only speak for myself of course, but it's the experienced players doing stupid stuff that really gets my blood boiling.

Case in point: we played the Africa Campaign today and the map was Island. We lost the 2 previous maps so that didn't bode very well for this one, but we constructed the generator in a couple of minutes so perhaps things weren't completely hopeless. At least that's what I thought at that point. Until I looked at the class balance in our team a couple of minutes later: 3 Coverts, 2 Field Opses, 3 Engineers and only 2 Soldiers and 1 Medic.

How anyone can think you can have a serious chance of blowing up the Vault Door with a team like that is completely beyond me. You can only get away with that if you're lucky or if you're facing a so so Strogg team. There were lots of experienced players on our team but only one of them saw the error of his ways and changed from Covert to Soldier. Needless to say we were still stuck at the second objective when the map ended.

I really don't understand why players won't change class if things are so obviously wrong and the team is getting nowhere. I don't expect new players to see why a combination like that won't work, but experienced players really should know better.

Class balance is neglected too often. There's no golden rule for what works and what doesn't, but the more experienced players should have learned at least something about it while putting all those hours into this game. I can't decide wether it's plain stupidity of selfishness, but this happens a lot and it annoys the hell out of me.
