Still giving the wrong code message for me too.

Nothing has been done with my support request since Friday evening, I have asked for an update not that I expect much to be done.

Got home from work to find a new reserved name email. When I tried to use it I got the too many accounts registered to this CD key message, which was strange as I only had created one name on the key over the weekend. After starting the game and deleting the online and local account I was able to activate the name I had reserved at the start.

Thats me sorted now, hopefully it wont take long for the others in the same situation to get their reserved names working.

When you click the activation link, make sure that the address is exactly same as it's in the e-mail. I clicked the link and it gave me "Wrong code" error, but then i realized that link didn't work properly. The link was cut in half, it only took half of the address, i had to copy/paste the full link from email to address bar, then it worked. So, copy/paste the full address in e-mail, and add that to your address bar, i hope it works.

I asume you started an support ticket at the activision support site a few days ago.
How ong did it take, til your new activation Mail arrived?

I noticed that too, the original link had a space and I had tried copying and pasting, but it still gave the wrong error code. At one point I tried the new link format with my old code, but still no joy.

I started the ticket around 12pm GMT on Friday and got my new code at around 6pm GMT on Mon. I would expect it may have taken longer as support staff may not have been in over the weekend. Though I did ask for an update on the situation on Mon around 1pm GMT. Hope that helps.

Same problem to me, I too started a ticket. Here is the timeline :
Customer (me) - 10/01/2007 09:40 AM
In order to activate my reserved game tag, I follow the link provided by the "ETQW Game Name Reservation notification" mail. The Activation URL page gives me an "Activation wrong code" message.
What can I do ? Please Help.

Hello.
There is a problem with your gametag, it is basically stuck in the database. This issue should be correctable, but we will need a little extra time to get it fixed (we will be contacting the appropriate people asap). We will let you know when this problem has been resolved and you can Activate your pre-order name.
I'm now waiting the issue to be resolved.
I find the Activision support not so bad in response time, but ok, it helps playing Team Fortress 2 to wait :]
Anyway, stay calm in your queries, precision will be improved and people more attentive. Anger is better after the answer, not before (and leads to sufffering... blah blah).

Mine is stuck in the database also but at least this is a first step in resolving the problem. The US Support answered within a few hours, the German one did not reply at all in over 4 days now. Not even got a note that my support request was received, nothing...

You will want to use the "Create a new online account" option. Since you have the game there is no need to bother with the pre-order site. If you have any further questions feel free to contact us.

he needs to help me reset my account as I am tired of waiting for this bs to be sorted out.

Thanks, Russell Johnson was the guy that told me that my name was locked up in the database yesterday.
Today, I quoted the solution that helped you by them resetting the account, BUT I am still waiting for somebody to do it for me.

The deleted my preregistered name from their database and i was (finally) able to register it through the game ... and hey ... it was some kind of "preregistered" because noone else was able to take it before me.

Did i say FINALLY before?

Well it must have been Sam because Russell just told me to wait for a fix again even after I told him that deleting my account was the fix, WTF !

Really? gdm, I have just sendt a similar email claiming a termination of my pretag account so I could manually go in and set my nick in the game system instead....

I'm having the same issue... waiting on a ticket now. Any ideas on how long this is going to take, and whether or not I can safely create an account and use a temporary name?

basically my template was this if anyone else wants to use it for themsleves also.

yeah I should have posted here sooner but have been busy sorry guys.

Activision US came thru with the goods shortly after I posted the last message but I didnt have time to check my emails as I had to go to hospital lol.

Anyway the short of it all is they responded fast and they fixed the problem fast. If you also have this problem get in touch with Activision US and get results
