Default Start using the voice chat more people

Something doesn't feel right about this game, the speed? the vehicles? No of course not. It's clear to any ET player people just aren't using the voice commands to their fullest.

This game isn't a library simulator so start making a noise. Taunt the enemy if you pull off a stunning peice of play to swing the game, congratulate good shots, and more importantly use requests and commands to improve teamwork. A good medic will instantly look to his mini map if he hears a call for aid, don't rely on him having the psychic ability to read your mind. Need a radar dropped? Backup? Let us know, I'll sure do my part to respond with the right action and I think others will too.

Doing all this has never been easier. Just hit the middle mouse button and scroll through the list of options. Global leads to cheers and taunts - everything you could possibily want to say to the server as a whole. Need is the key to good teamwork, here you call out for medics, health, ammo and a whole lot more. Mess around, take the time to look into all the categories yourself and discover how useful they can be.

There is no such thing as too much voice spam. It was one of the things that gave ET such a lively, light hearted atmosphere. So let's re-create it in this game too.

I agree. I try to use the voice commands as much as possible. It's faster than typing and allows for more accuracy as to what I need.

i want to add that you can now also use letters instead of numbers as shortcuts in order to access the various voice chat nodes. it's a lot easier to memorize than using the numbers.

example: GTK = (G)lobal (T)aunt (K)ill the alien scum

by default the ET configuration is applied, i. e. numbers. you can switch to using voice chat with letters in the settings menu.

Seconded! Not only are the voice commands a crucial component of a good team, but they add a large portion of the atmosphere to the game.

Make your ET:QW session better for yourself and others today! Use voice commands!

What is the default bind key for the taunts? I have the commands like yes, no, need ammo, etc. all binded on one key that I know of, but other people use taunt commands and I can't even find the name of the command to bind it to something in the settings menu.

I tried using the voice menu, but I usually get shot trying to find the 'run away, they've sent a huge robot with a big gun!!' option...

don't worry it took me ages to learn all the original ET commands, but after a while you'll know them better than your phone number.

there is no way to disable the sounds of these voice-messages?
I simply hate it if that voice-spam gets too much (was always playing without chatsounds @ET).

I hope there is a server setting that allows you to limit the rate of how many voice commands someone can send.

Nothing more annoying that someone who just figured out how to bind it to a key and likes to spam:

How do I DISABLE the voice, I am all about in-game voice chatting, like Ventrillio, but the voice commands in this game are so annoying. Also the "GRENADE" spam I hear.
