I never got so far with constructor, so this might be new to some too:
At some point you get an upgrade which makes your repair tool lock on damaged turrets/vehicles, like a rocketlauncher would lock on an enemy vehicle.
you just need to be close enough, 4-5 meters maybe. then press secondary fire, and it will launch a repair drone, which is flying around the damaged vehicle/turret until its repaired.
this is very helpful to repair walkers in fight. I always failed trying to repair walkers, as they always move around and nearly crush you.
with this, just run close, press alt attack and let the drone do the job.
you can even select a different weapon when the drone is repairing.

Just be aware that it's also consuming stroyent while flying around

Yeah this is a great upgrade for the engi. . do you know which level it is?

The game needs a tooltip for that repair drone. I was left clicking and right clicking all the live long day while staring at the damaged vehicle like an idiot

I don't think I've seen it in level1 already.
I had the plasma launcher before, although I found it pretty useless.
But I didn't notice the repair drone.

Plasma launcher is best used as a direct hit weapon. 1 hit kills baby

Also worth noting that if you move too far away from your repair drone, it will automatically return to you.

Anyone know if you can say, get out of a damaged walker, set up the drone, get back in fight while the drone repairs?

Yeah you can. Very, very effective tactic as you might imagine.

Note that your drone will die quickly under fire.
