some people seem to have some problems with hitting the Icarus... well I suppose that's true for most weapons especially if they don't damage alot

well a really easy way to take them out is go in a titan tank, then try to get them to fly near a big wall, building or a tree then fire on the wall/building/tree and the explosions kills them in one shot! especially trees could surprise them

P.S I have only played about 40 minutes yesterday and killed 2 Icarus guys like that^_^ tried that as soon as I found MG on top was useless for killing em....

Another easy way to kill Icarus flyers is using plasma mortar/ Rocket Artillery. You must only aim icarus using binoculars and wait.

the way i found best to kill them was,if you have a rl wait untill the begin to fall charge up the rocket fire it at the ground and boom,its explodes. you can also do this with a grenade

hmmm I don't see alot of Icarus falling to the ground... and if they do they don't do it anywhere near me... I mostly stay on top of buildings anyway where they can't reach me

Easiest way I've found? The jeeps turret... i hold down the sprint key (For the jeep boost) charge right into it, grab the turret and spray for my life

It's a gamble but you usually catch em' by suprise

Sniper are good anti-Icarus weapons too. A single round (at full damage) from the GDF sniper rifle does 150 points of damage, the Icarus only has 160 points of health

yeah noticed that to... best if they're some end away and you can go prone for best accuracy... tried doing it with one nearby and then decided to run away quicly cause I lost sight of him and didn't feel like tasting some stroggy bombs

While constructing the EMP Generator compotent engineers should have placed AVT's at the new spawn, the forward most river building still within GDF build territory and the sniper hills. These will drastically reduce the effectiveness of Icarus flyers and limit them to the more central parts of the map, where a lone Rocket Launcher can have a field day.

If you come across an Icarus flyer who won't leave you alone you should preferably just head towards team mates or a nearby AVT. They can't touch you, if your strafing is up to scratch. Make sure you:

(a) keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn't remove the Icarus and try and shoot you while your back is turned and

(b) for the love of god don't waste your ammo on him unless you're a field OP.

One of the simplest tactics in this game is to pester a GDF player into wasting all his ammo on you and then jumping out the Icarus to receive bacon...

sometimes when they stand still i can snipe them, but i usually try to be soldier, and so hard to lock-on them.

My favorite tactic versus the Icarus is just using grenades. Most Icarus players are greedy for that stroybomb kill, and will land or be flying within grenade range. Just cook your grenade and and try to have it explode midair somewhere around them.

Hard to do, but works pretty well.

Best way to kill an Icarus is to not run away, but still keep out of the way of the stroybomb damage, then when he comes down to the ground pop him with a Shotgun/Nailgun.

I also only bother shooting down an Icarus I or my team are in an encolsed area such as at an objective. If moving from point to point you might as well ingore any Icarus' and conserve ammo/stroyent.

If you've got Icarus' indoors, then the soldier's rocket laucher is very effective - the spash damage (no pun intended) usually kills them with a single shot

sniper is the best way here, 2 shots if the icarus is ful, and one if he got involved in a fight hehe

Also sometimes i snipe icarus in their base, giving just one shot on each

Will be a lot easier to kill them when they fix the hit prediction.
Currently the Icarus moves a bit to fast to hit WITHOUT hit prediction.

But I've killed a lot of Icarus with the tank.

I was flying the Icarus alot yesterday and died almost immediately every time I got over the action. Looks like that vehicle is not a good choice for combat.

I've never taken one down tho, btw.

How do you change positions in a vehicle? I haven't figured it out yet.

F is to changee positions....

as for the icarus....hit them with the sniper rifle then pop them with 2 rds from the pistol....easy as pie...

uhm yeah that sounds strange... well it was more luck then skill:P was driving armadill to hilltop spawn and Icarus just landed there... drove it over along with the guy in it o.0 right through the bushes lol^_^

I usually just ignore the stupid icarus. They cant seem to handle mobile targets very well.
