Its very good, i learnt that starting on expert without ever playing any steam game except CS:S is a bad idea

i recall how much outrage it caused amonged the fans, instead of making an update they are just selling the game again, basically splitting the community in half.

yes... I thought I heard that too... hmm... but I thought they assured that with the coming of L4D2 they would not stop creating patches, updates & stuff for L4D1

WRONG ! Omg ur living monaco, we are living very close each over

L4D2 has 5 new campaigns, but also new infected which are going to change all the gameplay in versus mode (and coop but less than versus).
Melee weapons atm are quite overpowered, it does insta kill almost everything.

About server selection, you can still put "openserverbrowser" in console and pick anyone, but you don't really need one with other option that the game is bringing you.

Imo L4D2 is a good game but it doesn't worth 50euros, it should have be 10-20euros DLC for the first one, and the atmoshere isn't the same at all, not it's full daylight and sucks a bit because you can't hide anymore as special infected

Definitively not the same as L4D1.

Theres more content in L4D2 than in L4D1, so it makes sense that its a sequel and not an update.

They made more content because it's not a single update but whole new title, not the opposite

but they would have lost me, had i bought the first game. They could have updated the original for years to come.

I think they admitted that they went back to work on stuff that didn't get into L4D1 and then that quickly became L4D2.

Having played the demo for some time I have to say the two games feel different. A mutation on a theme if I can be poetic about it. I like the idea and would actually welcome a 3rd game next year if they can further the story with another twist on the infected and how the team work together.

To say this should all have come out as DLC would be ignoring the outrage from people about changing L4D1's mechanics.

No, I'm happy dropping $35-45 on a new game with this much content and having it tagged as something different so you know what you're walking into. I do hope they find an elegant solution to link the titles so you can play all if you want but I don't think this is as big as was ever made out. shock!
