Default Plasma mortar/Rockets retargeting

I've recently discovered to my delight that plasma mortar projectiles (and rockets) can be retargeted after fired. This means that you can lock onto a cyclops, doom it to death and then with the remaining rockets hammer something else (like a nearby tank). Although it does leave you vulnerable, it's well worth the effort and I had a field day on one map destroying vehicles left/right. Interestingly, the mortar/rocket has amazing agility and can turn very sharply to reach its new target.

Especially fun to use on the driver if he bails out and runs thinking he is safe.

I presume you meant the FO's / Oppressor deployables. How does one continue to target the next item?

nice.... o.0 I never go around much using artillery but I think rockets are very flexible to and bloody fast... once you target something about 1-2 seconds later the first rocket comes falling o.0

You just aim the laser after the shells start launching, just as you would designate a target in the first place. This works only for the plasma and rocket artillery. The plasma is generally easier to use, since the rocket volley is pretty short.

Also if you locked a vehicle or deployable, you have to wait until it is destroyed before you can re-target the remaining rounds.

If you just lock on a bit of ground, you can re-target the whole volley. This is one of my favorite ways to deal with something that has you pinned down (a pesky sniper or vehicle). While cowering in cover, target something nearby. As soon as the shells start to launch, pop out (or lean) and target your opponent with the laser. A satisfying kaboom should follow shortly

Once you get the lock and rockets or plasma starts firing, you will notice in the center of your screen (if you are still in Binoc mode) a message "Laser Targetting Active".

You can fire the targetting laser (hold it on) and move it around to designate new spots to hit. A message like "Artillery Reloading" will appear eventually, at which time the re-targetting ends.

A great spot for this is just inside the Strogg forcefield and walls as you exit the Strogg first spawn. Drop a plasma turret there, go up on the hill to the left which gives you a view of the road and the GDF capturable spawn. Wait til you see a spawn wave of GDF then target and nail all the individual soldiers running toward the objective.
