Hey guys, just want to start a thread about any good tips/strats that the medic may be able to use!
![]() I found a nice little strat by the EMP. Place a supply drop on the roof of the building by the EMP. Get 2-3 other guys. And you can grenade spam the Strogg below. Also, I find that you do not necessarily need to run around with a gun, reviving 3-4 people is a lot better than going out on your own gun blazin. But be careful, some people may see you without a gun and focus on you. Any more tips/strats? -The Glavin

Medic is better than a Soldier if you just want to kill people. Unlimited health and ammo (for both sides) and the Assault Rifle (best GDF weapon).

Also, while running medic, its probably a good idea to anticipate health needs before your teammates go down (especially for the Technician). Throw down a couple of health packs in frequent firefight areas (like chokepoints and and near objectives). A live teammate is infinitely better than a dead one needing resuscitation. Also, as a medic, make sure you ALWAYS have a supply station down near the spawn or towards the next objective. Not only will it give you more ammo, but it will help the whole team stock up and stay alive if they need to disengage a firefight and there are no medics around. |

Also, medics should focus on healing/reviving before shooting while technicians should focus on shooting before revive. -The Glavin

I like to leave a couple of med pacs at the sewer controls, in case a team mate gets there and is low on health.

Also, here's another suggestion: When there is a huge gunfight going on and a member or two dies, try to plan a way to get out quickly after a revive(s) ahead of time, so you can focus on dodging (movement) the gunfire after the revive(s). -The Glavin

The use of crates cannot be stressed enough. Deploying them, using them, making sure they're everywhere your team is. If you capture the first objective then drop a new one where it's needed. I like putting it right near the sewer entrance, in such a way that teammates actually have to come in contact with it in order to get in. I don't understand why people just run in without stocking up first, but this helps by forcing them to get that extra magazine before they go inside.

What they said!
The GDF Medic's Supply Crates really are vital. We're looking at ways of making them more obvious/hooting and pointing at them/forcing players choosing Medic to type an oath swearing to make use of them. Once you've discovered how to use them, you know how valuable they can be, but how can we make that clear to newby players? Any suggestions? Just following up Ifurita's point above about Reviving on the run/crouch rather than standing and bending and carefully aiming and applying the Defibs, it struck me that this is very similar to how people are flying the Tormentor (and will be flying the Anansi too, I bet). At first everyone sort of hovers, stops, aims, does the action, then flies off when they ought to be moving as fast as they can and doing the action on the way past. Aiming/Firing and Aiming/Reviving should be near-instant and done during movement, not instead of movement. RunCrouchZapRun! Not RunStopLookAimShuffleRoundAimSomeMoreZapCheckPatie ntIsOKRu...oh we're both dead. |

You could use a box at the top of the screen saying how good they are

If you do the run/crouch and miss the first time, you can always go for a second/third (im hoping not fourth) sweep. But KEEP MOVING! I have found that movement is vital to the medic's survival since most of the time you will not be using your weapons to fire back, you want to stay alive as long as possible so you can help out your team as best as you can! -The Glavin

Perhaps as a part of the 'tutorial' popup's that show at the top of the screen - once a player gets hurt maybe show "You have been damaged. You can call for a medic or use a supply crate which shows up as a Cross on your minimap".

BTW I have only played the first beta so far, and the tips at the top of the screen disappeared too quickly for me to get out of action and take the time to read it...
Maybe the tips could be shown a bit longer (time which would be overridable in the options). |
