Breaking up a locked down strogg defence in the sewers

I had a great game last night playing as GDF against a well organised strogg defence. GDF had managed to blow both grates, but we were being held back by the strogg from entering through the tunnels.

I managed to get a strogg disguise as a covert ops and managed to sneak behind their defence line to hack the objective. It wasn't long before some of the strogg defence abandoned their lockdown positions to come and waste me but it did open up an opportunity for the rest of my team to rush the console and hack the objective with just three seconds to spare.

I was on the strogg team in that match (was laying dead and saw the humans hack in the last seconds ).. was fun game ^^

Yesterday I entered a well defended room in disguise. Wandered around for some time, checking if GDF are attacking, made 2 runs around board just to realize there are 2 more cov ops in disguise We hacked it before they could get to us and do anything.

I played a game yesterday where me and another Cov Ops hacked the objective while the rest of the team covered us, and we won with 1 second left on the clock, after about 3-4 minutes of trying to get past the Strogg defense into the control room. Everybody was like .

The problem with that is that people don't report when their identity is being stolen. Apart from myself, I've only seen a few pubbers report that the enemy is disguised as them.

err what was the Vsay key for that?

in wolf ET it was V 1 0 or something right? whats it in quake wars.

Crap, I forget... It's Middle Mouse + Self (8)... Just looks for the option that says "Disguise".

I always report in when someone stole my appearance.

Imho that is the easiest way to say to the other team that you are a covert op. Simple rule: only cov ops in disguise runs backwards :-).

What I like with sewer is that it is natural for strogg to come through the pipes. Since the spawn is in that direction. In W:ET this was rarely the case, so it was so much easier for the opponents to realise that you were in disguise (running backwards or not )

One of the reasons people don't report is probably cause they haven't explored the vsay menu... or by the time they've done searching the menu for the right option it's time to repsawn.

middle mouse? isn't that the scroll key?

dammit why did they change it. the Wolf ET one was fine and effcient. its not like I can't do V 7 for medic just as fast as V 2 2 in Wolf ET. its just 1 more key.

Well I am guessing that you could rebind the function to any key you want.

I wish c-ops had a choice of normal granades / emps because when I go out of disguise I lob my nades back in the main room where most of the strogg are but the emp nades do so little damage

today i hacked the controls 3 times because some guy put mines so strogg die, and guess wwhat, he killed 15 guys with mines near the obj.

Eye I always work my was back slowley and croch and lean on corners ike I'm covering the entrances from enemies. Also a funny trick I started doing is chasing my own team mates arround with the spikes (hitting them sometimes) and the enemy thinks I'm one of them.

Then they look at someone else and get the BACKSTAAAAAAAAB ! ! ! !

Good call, when you look like you're engaged in the battle it's much more convincing. I didn't really mean just +back into Strogg territory .

u can look more authentic gibbing body of your teammate(knowing he aint getting picked up)with your spikes
that works a treat
