You can take the Titan from the back GDF spawn across the outside lip of the water if you do it right and bring yourself right up behind the enemy spawn.
This is a great trick when you are on the shield hack or contaminator destruction obj's and when done properly can be a big factor in your teams victory. Take the Titan out the side entrance (the one that is partially blocked by an Aramidilo you will have to destroy) and continue past the road that goes down to the boat. Drive up along the lip of the road and take the turn. The path from here is pretty obvious just remember you need to take the higher path in the Titan or you won't be able to get up the hill. Make you way to the spawn, ill the cyclops/hog using the building as cover then move in and rape spawns. Remember people will spawn as a RL soldier so keep a close listen and don't waste your shots until they begin to fire and thier spawn shield goes down. Frag On!

You can actually take the Titan into the hack point if you come from behind. I've seen some surprised looking strogg as I drive around blowing up them and their turrets!

Hehe, driving the tank along that route was the first thing I ever did in ET:QW (while giving the game a first try on an empty server running on my own box).
Remember that route to be a bit annyoing though.

Yep, that's one of my favorite tactics. Damn you for giving it out
j/kI've got a couple of things I can add to that. If you get up on the pad in front of the contaminator building you'll have a really good view of the strogg spawn point, including the cyclops. You're not 100% immune to AVTs up there, but those placed near the entrance can't hit you and the ones closer to the water tanks are either too far away or the building blocks them. The only AVTs you really have to worry about are the ones they place between where the cyclops spawns and where the ramp goes down by the shield generator, an occasional AVT directly in front of the contaminator building dropped by a constructor you may not see, and lastly on the pad opposite your location(those are the most dangerous since they're pretty common there). You'll have to use your decoys pretty often since you'll be quite visible to obliterator wielding soldiers but they're fairly easy to take out once they've fired once. You can also lob rounds into the shield area and kill strogg and their deployables with the tank cannon's splash damage. You're also in a real good spot to kill snipers that fly an icarus to the roof to snipe and hang out close to it so it won't respawn. Just lob a round or two up there and if the splash doesn't kill them the explosion from their icarus will. ![]() If you've caused enough havoc then the strogg will start breaking off their primary goal of protecting the shield generator and will start sending more men and vehicles your way. The Hogs and Icarus' (Icari?) will be fairly easy, and the cyclops isn't too hard if you drive off the side to repair before he's able to come around the corner, but sometimes the cyclops will come around behind the contaminator building and attack. That's probably the biggest threat, unless there's an awesome tormentor pilot in the air. And lastly, even after the shield's been hacked and the SMP has blown open the building you can still be quite useful. Lob shells between the strogg spawn and their main entrance to the building and you'll at least keep them at bay. There will also be tons of strogg waiting in ambush near the new entrances. Just point your cannon at the door and you'll see a red triangle and then you can let 'em have it with your cannon.

That's not only a valid tactic for the Titan, but for the Armadillo also.
When I'm hacking the shield generator, I'll spawn at the first GDF base, take an Armadillo along the side of the lake, right in front of the end building, jump out next to the hack objective from that side and .... Strogg rarely notice me coming from that side. Perfect attack route for a surprise attack.

Here's one I like,
If you're a keen driver, once the SSM has blown the side of the building, get in there with a Husky! Nothing like mowing Strogg down indoors. |

That's why you send in Bert, the mine-fodder Commando first... and then mow him down too if he's managed to survive. With any luck, half the GDF will step up to the plate and be Bert, blindly rushing in to Strogg defenses.

If you go out the front door of the main base and turn right. Then up the mountain. You will be warned not to leave the area but carry on. Then you can drive up the mountain and round the back of contaminator building and shell the spawn to your hearts content.
