ETQW Pre-order Program: Activating Your Reserved Name

If you bought the Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars Pre-order Package, you were able to reserve your preferred player name ahead of the release of the game and thus could be sure that you'd get name you really want. If you haven't activated your reserved name yet or are having problems with the procedure, read on to for a walkthrough of the process, a few common issues, and what to do if it just isn't working the way it's supposed to.

A Status Update on the Linux Versions of ETQW

I'm Timothee Besset, the Programmer at id Software in charge of the Linux versions of Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars as part of the ongoing support for the game.

There's been a ton of interest from the Linux Community, so I wanted to give you all a status update on development.

Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars Client Update Incoming

Now that the wait for Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars is almost over, we are turning our attention towards post-release support and making sure the community has what it needs.

We started working on game improvements as soon as we wrapped up work on the demo and a first, small update is ready to go now and will be available for download shortly. We're rolling this update out through the in-game auto updater, so the download process will be completely automated. We're also providing a few external mirrors in case you want to download the file separately or are experiencing problems grabbing it via the updater.

Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars PC Demo Soon - Details Inside!

So Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars is done and off to manufacturing! Here at the Splash Damage World Headquarters we started working on the Demo right after the game went gold - we really wanted to get the Demo out there before release to give all of you the chance to see what ETQW is all about. The best part is that the Demo is wrapped up and ready to go; it's set to hit the internet this coming Monday - September 10, 2007 - just a few days from now! Read on to find out the system requirements, what the Demo will contain, and all the cool stuff we've got planned to celebrate the Demo launch.

The Music of Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars

When Return to Castle Wolfenstein (RtCW) was released, I had my first introduction to Bill Brown's compositions. The RtCW introduction movie alone was especially well-scored and animated – I'd watch it over and over, loving the score more with each listening, so of course we included as much of Bill's music as we could in our first game with id Software; Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory.
