Sewer: Some Tactical Notes...

Hi there everyone, BongoBoy here. ETQW's Public Beta is going well - more and more people are participating, and we're getting some very useful feedback on the public beta forum. I've dropped into a few Beta servers and been surprised how quickly players are getting to grips with the game. We always anticipated that ETQW would take some getting used to. We designed it as a complex game, with a lot going on at once, some of it stuff you may not have encountered in an FPS before. Although you can just go Soldier or Aggressor and run around and shoot at stuff, hitting M occasionally to get a Mission to guide you, the heart of the game involves the interaction of all the classes, their abilities, items, weapons, the vehicles and deployables, as well as the terrain of the map itself.

A Word About In-Game Ads

Hi, I'm Neil Postlethwaite, Splash Damage's Managing Director and one of the Producers on Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars. I'd like to talk to you today about the in-game advertising we have in ETQW.

For the last four years, we've put all of our effort into making Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars. So, we're not planning to ship this game and walk away. We want to keep supporting ETQW in as many ways as possible. We'll be maintaining the persistent stats servers and the community site, and continuing to support ETQW with updates and improvements.

ETQW Public Beta Distribution Details and Start Date!

With the Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars Public Beta approaching, we have a few more bits of information about how the whole thing is organized, how you will be able to get your key, and, most importantly, when key distribution will actually start.

Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars Public Beta First Details

At long last, we are delighted to confirm the impending Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars Public Beta. The ETQW Closed Beta has been going extremely well and yielding excellent results. We want to give more people the opportunity to give us feedback on the game so we’re going to open a Public Beta with 60,000 slots available. This way we’ll be able to test many more combinations of hardware, RAM, CPU, graphics card, drivers etc. than we’ve been able to ourselves, and also get a better idea of how the game plays for the general gaming public.

Creating Bot AI for Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars

I'm John "Maleficus" Dean, one of the programmers at id Software, working on the multiplayer "bot" AI for Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars. I’m going to share a bit of what it’s like to create an AI for a game like ETQW.
